They said it couldn’t be done!
(Actually they assumed I had enough sense to notice that for myself.)
But here in principle we have a workable map in Inkscape:
[g998]
“Workable” in the sense that the warp lanes have triangles attached at the ends (you can see black slanting lines at the corners), the points of which can auto-snap to the hidden square at the centre of each system tile. And I think that may be the most technically challenging bit to do.
There’s more prep work to do, but in pri…
Players: @Canadian_Errant @Carletto80 @Delwayne @Lordof1 @RossM please make sure you’re “watching” this thread. Shortly I will also set up a private message thread.

Oh. Okay, if I choose first, I will accept Romulan.
I have a soft spot for the Klingons.
In my games, I’ll only include Vulcan if we have 7 players. Otherwise, they are not an option to pick.
Our game yesterday (at convention) once again confirmed that.
Is that something here we could all agree to?
(Roger tends to let his players decide. So it is our call). If you have played with the Vulcan faction in a game you’d understand. They tend to unbalance the game a tiny bit.

I was going to plump for Vulcans.
Because Having one ascendancy and a warp token from the start is huge.
What do we think?
My problem with the Vulcans is that the difficulty of their objectives is hugely variable. That said, I don’t mind having them in the game.
But it is hidden and if I’m not mistaken, they start with 3 Ascendency?

They do. Having even 1 is what I meant. 2 objectives. 1 public and 1 private.
Shall we decide? Do you want Vulcans in this game?
I really don’t see a problem with having the Vulcans as long as other players are aware of what their objectives can be.
It’s really player experience. New players who have never had them in a game would not care. But if all players have seen them in action, then they would have a better understanding. So, it is just a choice.
