The Crowdfunding Thread

That actually looks like a decent deal.

I still prefer the original art style, but for the in-box trays, inserts, etc., I can see this being a good deal for someone who wants FCM but doesn’t already have it.

Not really crowdfunding, but preorders are up for All Aboard Games Wave 6 18xx games:

I haven’t bought anything, but hoping to get a family member to put in preorders in my name for Ur: 1830BC and 18BE… Not sure about 18Svea as I already have some low player count 18xx’s and I want to wait what Scott is going to do with his 18xx kit system with Age of Steam style reuse components for multiple maps.

I’m interested in Ur:1830BC mostly due to the designer pedigree, and 18BE because the designer said they are working on a solo mode

I just got my 48 hour warning for Nocturne but I still haven’t really looked at it. It certainly has a good pedigree, but does anyone have thoughts about it?

Verdant was quite disappointing to me.
Cascadia and Calico are great.
All of them are retail available and I have yet to use any of the KS Promos materials I have.

I am waiting for the verdict of others. There is no reason to crowdfund this one.

Haggis and chips, nom nom.

Is it 1 set per player?

Just went back and checked can I get 4 sets of haggis chips please.

(a) As a culinary concept, “haggis chips” doesn’t sound any worse than regular haggis, but still – not buying those.
(b) I own a copy of the game, so now I need to look…

Edit: Oh, that stained-glass art work is purdy. The chips consequently don’t mesh with my copy of the game, but I reckon they’d still be nice.

Edit 2: Hilariously, one of their collaborators has two videos embedded within that campaign, which together are advertising two different game mechanisms as his “favourite mechanism”. That’s a bit blatant!

Are you sat down Phil? What I’m about to show you may shock and disgust you.

What if I told you that Jamie doesn’t have just two favourite mechanisms, but 749 and counting?

Clearly the man is just confused.

Out of context, his earlier videos look deranged

It’s a pity he started using images of the games in the thumbnail. Much less funny.

Is he a tad whimsical? Or just not great at thumbnail titles?

I assume that this applies to other parts of Scotland as well, but battered haggis and chips is definitely a common option in Aberdonian chippies. As a vegetarian I would get the macaroni pie as my unwise post-pub food instead…

Oh, no, it’s been way long since I had haggis last…

I can’t imagine that you’re short of the necessary ingredients in NZ, unless oats are particularly difficult to get hold of :sheep:

I have porridge every morning. Not hard at all.

Considering the big Scottish heritage all over NZ (especially in the South Island, but all over) I am surprised I have never seen haggis on supermarket meat shelves…

…each round, you determine player order by way of a quick 9-holes of golf at the nearest convenient course…

If his games are anything to go by (Scythe, Tapestry, Viticulture, Euphoria), he’s functionally competent, but quite stiff and not much fun.

My favourite mechanic of golf is when you get to hit things really hard. More games should have that.
