So it is full co-op?
Yup, full co-op. If anyone dies in the first half of the game (before the ritual is disrupted), its game over right there.
Iām surprised how much I like DMD. I didnāt back the KS, probably rolled my eyes when I saw it. Bought it after SVWAG went on and on about it.
CW is an area control game isnāt it?
In non-DMD news, I have bought Zen Master, yet another Knizia game. And a trick taker too. Itās possible I have enough trick taking games now.
The only similarity is the Cthulhu theme
In case those properties are of particular interest, see also:
(Iāve no idea how many games there are like this; thatās just one I happen to know of.)
Released ALL my holds. In the mail came:
Railroad Ink: Lush Green, Railroad Ink: Shining Yellow, Chinatown, New York Zoo, Dune: Imperium, Beyond the Sun, Air Land & Sea (revised, with the colorblind aids, because I couldnāt play my first copy with my father), Tomesaga, Rajas of the Ganges, and Tiny Towns
And⦠Iām done? I think Iām done. Chinatown only came in to get free shipping and I was really struggling to find a game I wanted.
Has anyone else ever been done? How long does it last?
Iām done until the next shiny comes along. But nothing is making me jump.over the buy line at the minute. I think most of that is the well documented āprices are risingā making a Ā£30 game last year a Ā£50 next year. Shooting everything right out my impulse buy range.
Just For the King (and me) on preorder.
Iām off on a family holiday, so I bought Dinosaur Tea Party in case itās fun for 13 year olds after SVWAG talked again about it
Sometime in the middle of last year I thought āthis is it, Castles of Burgundy completes the wishlistā ā¦. It lasted a couple of months I think. I was quite mad at myself when it turned out I was not ādoneā.
I feel like I am mostly done with the older games (I am hunting a couple on ebay Kleinanzeigenānotably: Chinatown). I am now looking for new things almost exclusively. It feels as if I ācaught upā to the hobby somehow. But ask me again tomorrow and maybe I have changed my mind
I have a lot of incoming still including a whole bunch of Kickstarters⦠mostly delayed.
Right now the only thing I am waffling about is Imperium Classics but there is only one shop still has it and that is in Belgium and needs more games to make up for shipping and I cannot seem to find anyā¦
There was definitely a point where Iād either bought or tried-and-rejected everything on my wishlist. At the moment the games storage room is pretty much full, so while Iām picking up occasional things here and there Iām not buying much.
It is funny, but I kind of feel ādoneā with regards to reviews. Unless something really catches my eye, not much of what is new has been very appealing to me. Most of the YouTube channels I watch focus a lot on KS new releases, and I have been a few months where, besides that new Witcher game, everything has been a bit āmehā.
Itād be interesting to see if I get there with regards to sales. At the minute, this is in contrast with my main source of acquisitions lately, which is second hand games on Fbook or similar (TradeMe). So I wonder how far away I am from getting āthereā where the two levels balance out.
The SUSD review of the pinball roll and write game didnāt convince me to get it. The twitch play stream of a board from the upcoming expandalone did. I now have Super Skill Pinball 4-Cade and canāt wait to try it.
The āIām doneā feeling usually lasts a few months for me⦠Iām done at the moment, although since Iām planning to put things in the next maths trade maybe Iām not really done!
I know Iām not done. Trying to reduce purchases (unsuccessfully), but I know for a fact I would like to pick up Tyrants of the Underdark when the new edition releases, as well as most if not all of the upcoming Unmatched releases. But that is all I can think of for now.
Kingdomino: Age of Giants arrived todayā¦
Thereās very little at the moment Iām excited about. Beyond the Sun is the biggie. Otherwise itās expansions for Root to and Spirit Island
In the process of thinking through the āIām doneā sentiment, I browsed my evergreen wishlist and looked for things that are, likely, never going to be tracked down by my partner or other family members. Things like publisher-direct or hard-to-track-down Kickstarters.
As a direct result of that, I discovered that Lautapelit.fi has preorders available for incoming US stock of Eclipse Second Dawn for the Galaxy at a price that, likely, will beat any future retail prices (if I could even grab the available stock when they show up on OGSs)
Urg. Grak. Yes. I have Eclipse on my theoretical wishlist with a price of $100. And, you know, maybe in 5 years that will happen. But thatās true, I would buy Eclipse if that happened.
Revision: done*
So ādoneā without the asterisk lasted (checks watch)ā¦
Yes? Mostly for retail releases but that never lasts and itās generally for new games. New releases for games we love (Unmatched, Godtear, Warhammer Underworlds, etc) are almost insta-buys.
On the flip side, Iām always watching KS and backing too many games. For the most part I donāt really mind, but I do need to make an effort to move on games that donāt work for us. That pile has grown quite a lot!
Not everyone can be as diligent as @lalunaverde in getting rid of games my trade pile has about 20 games I guess⦠need to do something about that.
