So, I have a 5-year old son, and it pains me greatly that he has so many toy cars and yet doesn’t take the obvious opportunity to play Death Race 2000. I’m starting to think he’s no son of mine. GASLANDS: AL FRESCO EDITION (although Gaslands: Rally might have sounded better) It’s a lovely day, always annoying when you’re a gamer, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to try my newly-acquired Gaslands outside. I know it’s more of a miniatures game than a board game, but although I don’t normally play minis games, something about driving you cars and saying ‘brrrrrMmm’ massively appealed to me. The cheapest set of little 1:64 scale toy cars I could find arrived today, which means I now have everything I need to give Gaslands a whirl – just as soon as I’ve glued the template print-outs to cereal box cardboard, and cut them out, and read enough of the rules to try the training race… (In practice that’s not happening until sometime next week at the earliest, but it’s something to look forward to.)
