I reckon that the space shuttle is a plane, though. Explain that! That’s right, you can’t. Maths, schmaths!
Don’t they become dodecahedrons?
Or in lay terms, a D12?
Rhombic dodecahedrons, yes.
But rhombic dodecahedrons do not hexagons make.
But they are made of hexagons…
Pentagons, actually?
You’re right, actually. Gosh, it has been a long day…
EDIT: Not even a Goldberg polyhedron works… you need pentagons in that too…
Nerds! You are all a bunch of nerds!
I say this with love.
Back at you! (the love bit)
This has been absolutely stellar everyone. Now stop derailing the chat.
This is a game that I’ve been involved in play testing which is slowly inching its way towards Kickstarter:
I’ll just assume these are related… :)
I’m not actually “anticipating” Sankoré as such. I’ve never played Merv, but I just had to cross-check the games when I saw the cover art for the new one, and then figured I’d post here in case anyone was interested.
Well, after this review, I guess I’m going to be getting the new co-op version of Unmatched. And then presumably a load of the older boxes too.
If you do go for the older boxes, I’d recommend trying to get the Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot box, as they are getting really hard to find and are “in the vault” (think of the old Disney video vault), and Robin is a really fun fighter to play. I think the Cobble and Fog set is also in the vault, which also has some really good fighters.
And then there’s the Buffy, Jurassic Park and Marvel sets, which are no longer being printed at all as the licenses have expired, so get them while you can, if interested. And while Bruce Lee is super fun, he’s not worth the $200 I see him go for on eBay, so you’ll have to do without. And Deadpool is just silly.
They all (except Bruce Lee) seem to be listed as in stock for decent prices (except Buffy) on https://boardgameprices.co.uk/
Chaos Cards notably have copies of Tales to Amaze with some extras, but it’s “while stocks last”.
Thanks all! It’s very much about which characters my partner would enjoy, and on that list Cobble and Fog and Buffy would be at the top. I’ll take a look at the “not getting that license again” sets.
Then definitely nab Buffy, as it will not get reprinted. My understanding is the games in the vault will be republished at some point in the future, so at least you will have another crack at them if you can’t get them now.
Sadly, looking at the BGP listing, the only stock is on Amazon and the listing looks suspect. I don’t think you’ll be able to get it over here other than 2nd hand.
Well that Dice Tower review certainly loves it about as much as it’s possible to. A caveat is that those four people all said they already loved Unmatched, so I’d be super interested to hear from someone who wasn’t a big fan of the head-to-head and has been swayed by the co-op.
Funnily enough, the three boxes I have are some of the ones mentioned above – Cobble & Fog, Robin Hood vs Bigfoot, and Bruce Lee.
My mind immediately starts thinking things like “if I could get my partner to play the co-op and she enjoyed it, maybe she’d then be interested in trying the head-to-head”, but chances are it would end up being a solo thing.
Well, my sudden interest in it is that my partner wouldn’t enjoy 1v1, but would love co-op, and would especially love trying all the Cobble and Fog characters in co-op. So it does have a long future for me now, but as co-op only (unless I bring it to a games night with people who are into 1v1 or 2v2).
