Argh.
I was really looking forward to AE 2nd… and I hate Kickstarter (for a myriad of reasons)…
Argh…
Build a Sanctuary for Dragons in Wyrmspan | BoardGameGeek News | BoardGameGeek
If you’re more into dragons than birds
Oh dear, did we leave the knight lure flying again? [Background: gauzy white veils, faint mechanical cries of “help”.] Oh well, better let the knights into the feeding pen, if we don’t they’ll only found a chivalric order or something…
Dragons are cool.
Polygon have done a round-up of some forthcoming games:
My first instinct was to check that it wasn’t April!
As someone who has thought about game design before, it’s a natural progression to move to a mythical, fanstastical, and/or fictional setting because when it comes to Wingspan, if you introduce a new bird that does a thing, you’ll end up with at least 4 BGG threads and 218 reddit posts about how that bird doesn’t do that thing in real life and that it would be more appropriate to give that ability to some bird that was already introduced in a previous expansion, and that this bird should do this other thing that also doesn’t make sense, spawning a number of sub-debates.
By moving the system into a fantastical land, they can be the authority on what a dragon does or doesn’t do without having to deal with all that.
Well, actually…
I bought a lot on bgg and recouped the cost by selling Deadpool back to the market. I’ve been meaning to sell Buffy too, so maybe it’s time.
Good and bad news on the Rallyman front. “Synapses Games” in Canada have got the publication rights to GT and Dirt. But they have no access to backer lists or any remaining stock of the HGG edition (most of which I think Bolloré has now dumped into retail anyway).
If anyone remembers me yapping about Age of Assassins, they are finally reprinting it in the West.
Scrolling games you can preorder at one of my OLGS… it seems like both Letters from Whitechapel and Whitechapel Mystery (mine has yet to be played, oops) are getting another printrun towards SPIEL this year.
Also I saw Yokohama but not with the cover I know…
No signs of the Pots and Tigers reprint…
Zoo Vadis is finally showing up in retail shops (for August)
An Expansion for Mischwald is coming quite soon.
Tamashi is also showing up at retail. My campaign languished a bit but I intend to play it at some point.
Nekojima, a stacking game I loved at last year‘s SPIEL is also appearing at multiple shops soonish. I will eventually get a copy. It was really cool and I like stacking.
There is a German version for Spots coming out. I remember SUSD recommending that one.
The Nusfjord Big Box says „May“ in the listings.
The Firefly Superbig Box says „July“—I am not that surprised it‘s showing up at some retail places. For a measly 220 Spacebucks.
Ditto… My wife and in-laws sounded really interested and then there has been zero response to me suggesting it. Sigh.
Addendum: I am seeing a German version of Rallyman Dirt for May 2024…
What is the state of the English version? I am seeing copies at retail all over the place. I have hesitated to buy it because my Rallyman box is filled to the brim and also I was under the impression that these are copies that should have gone to backers and there will be no more English printing for the forseeable future? Am I wrong?
As far as I’ve been able to tell:
Any copies that are for sale now may originally have been intended for backers, but they’re never going to reach them.
Well this looks different, area influence, hidden stocks, market manipulation.
I get the feeling the pun works best in a thick Scottish accent
I’m starting to think Daybreak is a game I’m going to want to buy when it’s in shops…
Yeah I asked my FLGs to stick a copy away for me.
