My oldest child is fairly obsessed with PB&J sandwiches at the moment and, as much as we try to avoid giving our children processed food, there’s a limit to how many PB&J sandwiches you can make in one day before you are just done.
That’s where having uncrustables waiting in the freezer comes in.
I’m a big fan of peanut butter, honey, and banana sandwiches. But you have to use “real” peanut butter and not the sweetened stuff or it’s way too much sweet.
I experimentally discovered the peanut butter + honey combo as a kid, and that was a go-to sandwich option for me for many years after. I never thought to try adding banana to that, though – which is strange, because mashed banana sandwich was one of my other go-tos…
Peanut butter’s ok, if a bit claggy, as long as it’s crunchy and not smooth.
Jam, honey, banana, crisps and Marmite are also all ok individually, and indeed all make excellent sandwiches.
Oh, definitely. Cheese and Marmite is the sandwich of the gods. Even more so with some tomato added.
(although in all honesty I find actual marmite itself overly salty these days. Other, less salty, yeast extract spreads are available)
But I personally wouldn’t go putting honey or peanut butter or jam in there as well.
Even crisps would be wasted, detracting from the majesty that is a simple crisp sandwich (best with plenty of butter and cheap thick-sliced white bread).
