One of the servers for which I’m responsible has failed in a way it really shouldn’t be able to. Now waiting to find out when I can get in to pull it out and bring it home to fix it. Meanwhile I build alternate ways of doing the things it does; it’s the one machine I can’t readily double up.

All of the employees of a local donut shop quit yesterday morning. The location is a franchisee of a chain of donut shops from Denver (about an hour by plane).
Imagine flying to another city to work in a donut shop.

I’m not surprised. It would be cruller to everyone to leave it shut down. I imagine they’ll be tired, with glazed expressions on their faces, but call me old fashioned, I’m glad they’re no longer in a (sugar) twist.

A huy I went to high school with worked for a Srestaurant chain, as a training manager. He was part of the team that went around and opened new restaurants, while they trained mew staff.
I saw him at a reunion shome years ago, and he had recently had to go to an already open store, because several managers had been arrested for selling drugs out of it.

I cannot really find it now, but I remember my partner (she is a Pharmacist) loving the opening hours in the Chemist by the beach not 10 mins walking from my parent’s house in Las Palmas.
9.30 to 12.30 and 16.30 to 19.30.
She definitely was considering a move to Gran Canaria after reading that.
