“Oy!” “Wut?” Just chat (The Return of)

Thank you
I hope we get to play some games. The initial weather check said to take lots of games but on second glance it looks like the weather will be half games and tea and half taking walks on the beach or so and that is just for the 2nd week.

This is our first time “traveling” since forever. This hopefully comes closer to our usual mode of travel—seeing more than just one place and being “on the road” for at least 2 weeks. We haven’t had a trip like that since going to Norway in June 2019. I am totally not used to this anymore. It took me so long for packing my stuff and that is with a car where I do not have to pack small (or we wouldn’t be taking anything but Button Shy games). I used to know quite precisely what I was going to take and I was able to go with way less things than I am taking now. Although I am pleased that I can at least still fit everything but the games in my backpack and suitcase that I would be able to carry it all at once on a train for example.

Too many games. Because I can:

The bag is big, why not fill it up with too many choices? Right? Possibly leaving behind either Roll or Oceans…

PS: Royal Visit is riding along in the Great Plains box.

Just run the last session of an RPG campaign I started in 2007 (148 monthly-ish sessions). Probably the best campaign I’ll ever run, certainly the longest. Wow. We made it.

I sure hope you ended it with the “and then you all wake up and find yourselves where you camped in the first night”

It was occult WWII, and the closing line was a toast: The King. And absent friends.

How did occult WW2 end?

With a personal duel between one of the PCs and Hirohito – which Hirohito deliberately lost, and made sure the Cabinet couldn’t cover it up, so that he could use the Imperial mythos to force a surrender before the invasion. (Nuclear weapons were off the table for magic-related reasons, but he didn’t know that.)

Been playing the new Uwe Rosenberg release recently. It’s called “Build a Sodding Great Gazebo in Your Garden”.

Apparently it takes 2 people a day to build this…

2 consecutive weekends, with up to 6 working on it. 1 trip to A&E (me - fell off the roof. Very lucky escape with only a very badly bruised and grazed elbow). It’s going to be an outside kitchen and seating (gaming) area.

I’m shattered

Congratulations!

From my own experience of gazebo-gaming: wind is your enemy now.

For how many days? :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you weren’t seriously hurt.

Obviously an estimate devised by the same person who decides the play time to put on game boxes.

(I hope your elbow is feeling better)

Thanks. It’s ok, just a lovely colour.

A day’s work in insane. Our friend has been sat on the roof for 3 hours today to get the shingles on.

Heavy games in there only

This is what happens when you don’t properly heed the ancient tales about the dangers of gazebos.
