A bit of a reserve for when it gets dumped in a warehouse for two weeks…
Yeah, but that’s just for making the ice-cream.
My old PhD housemate actually has the world record for making a litre of ice cream. It took him about 11 seconds
Or cooling some IT hardware…
Ouch, the thermal stress. Much better to use fluorinert and let the suppliers think you’re some kind of vampire cult.
Five liters of liquid nitrogen and the base for ice cream. I don’t have any pictures of the process of the final xt roduct.
My second favourite of these was the client of the webshop I was working at in 2000-2001, who insisted that:
- the sequence of receipt numbers for purchases made must have no gaps in it
- the customer must be able to see their receipt number before they commit to the purchase
Even when we wrote it out for them in detail they couldn’t see why these two things wouldn’t go together.
(My favourite, at ISP tech support, was the guy whose transatlantic ping time was basically lightspeed lag, and who insisted that it could be faster…)
Why would that be important? Just in case you have a particular grudge against a number?
If we somehow manage to make cables that contain a vacuum …
I think they had misunderstood something told to them by their credit card processing provider.
We have some VMs that are only allowed to run on hosts in the top couple slots in the rack, because the cable to the top of rack switch is shorter.
The use case I have run across is generating a pro forma invoice, so the customer can give me a PO, so I can send an actual invoice.
My in-laws will occasionally send us a order of meat, once or 2x a year if it’s a good offer.
They come with dry ice, tho 2x they have come ruptured and the dry ice doesn’t keep as well.
Once it got a delayed and was a holiday weekend (3 days.)
A “cooler” of hot meat was left on our door. I was not happy fitting that into the trash.
The Law of Contagion:
In a closed room filled with a mixture of masked and unmasked people, what is the possibility that the person coughing is the one that doesnt wear a mask?
Im not good at Maths, can someone help?
I believe the answer is:
inconsolable sobbing

I am packing for vacation. Being a structured developer person I obviously made a plan first so nothing is packed yet. But I have a list. The list includes games
My cousin wants me to bring:
- Brass Birmingham,
- Cryptid and
- Fall of Rome (he teaches history, also see BB)
- His wife would also have liked me to bring Spirit Island but the big wooden box doesn’t take well to traveling.
Games to play with 2:
- Any number of Button Shy games
- Mouse Cheese Cat Cucumber and Lunar Base recently arrived small box KS games I haven’t played yet
- Great Plains + Royal Visit (kinda bought for this vacation)
I am unsure if I want to take along (travel by car and the big boardgame backpack may get filled up there is a lot of space in that) something bigger…. Ideas?
Enjoy the holiday. Yup interested to know how royal visit goes.
