Oath PBF companion thread, for rules questions and the like

Hypothetically speaking, of course… if someone were to exile Yashima they would need 5 favour?

yes they would.

Chewy77 could have done it for 3 (oathkeeper and people’s favor), but without those, yes, it costs 5 favor - paid to Yashima.

When you become a citizen you have 2 warbands on the Mountain, and 3 warbands on your board.

After Whistle_Pig becomes a citizen, there are only 2 purple warbands left in the supply. You will effectively lose 3 warbands, and have to choose where the 2 purple ones go - Mountain and/or board.

Do I get to choose that? I thought it would fall to the chancellor?

No, it’s your choice. Your warbands.

@GeeBizzle Just as a thought exercise: you could have moved to the Lush Coast, spent a secret on the Roving Terror to send it to oust the wolves, searched the Cradle discard to play the Wolves in the space the Roving Terror vacated, getting one favor from Beast and one from Hearth with Welcoming Party, then traded those two favor with the wolves for 2 secrets.

I have no idea whether or not this would have been preferable for you, I just found it interesting.

It would have saved me the travel, true. Although I want to keep as many beasts on the board as I can, my poorly constructed heavy secret, low favour economy is pretty redundant.

I think it’s still on the Mob side, so that will be one on, one off to the bank with least favor.

Interesting. To me, the game disincentivizes controlling sites if you are going to win, or be on the winning team. I would think a good chunk of the fun is discovering new areas, new cards, etc. If the winner owns nearly all the sites, there’s very little to discover in the next game.

Seems to me that the winner does of course want to expand territory. Anyone else probably wants to shrink it, unless they are or will be citizens.

In @Chewy77 's case, if the assumption is that Yashima will win, I think there will only be exile boards available to select next game for the deposed chancellor, so it is not in his interest to expand empire territory.

That is assuming I will play the next game. I was roleplaying the Mad King that wants to get back what was his Lush Coast. On the other hand, I was a bit tongue in cheek, as it is very unlikely that I will win the fight, anyway.

Given the fact that I have no way out to win this, I was being a bit of a “let’s play this as my character would”. But in order to be fair, I will cancel that and search and rest. I don’t want to make it too hard for the next game.

Oh, all good. Do as you will. I was just ruminating on the incentives.

The world deck is empty. You can still search the cradle discard for 2 supply.

I will do that, my bad for not looking.

To start a campaign, there must be a target where you are. So, if your current site was bandit-held, you could campaign against the bandits and add the shrouded wood as an additional target. You cannot just target the shrouded wood from where you are now.

Sorry, so use supply to travel there, and then campaign, I think I have just enough?

Nope, just checked, Salt Flats it is instead… The perks of looking at the board on my telephone screen.

I will edit the post on the main thread.

What are your campaign targets?
