Oath PBF companion thread, for rules questions and the like

Sorry, but that’s not how Trade works. All the favor must come from the bank of the suit you trade with. If it’s short, you only get what you can. This is in large part what makes cards like the Alchemist and Spirit Snare powerful.

(Apologies if I mislead you earlier, I haven’t been looking at the board)

Don’t apologise, I missed that completely as well…

Edited the main thread.

I haven’t double-checked, but I think you are looking at very very low odds here. 6 defence dice, 5 warbands vs. your 4 warbands with no modifiers. Like, you need to roll 0 on 6 defence dice and sacrifice all of your warbands. Maybe something like 1/100 or 1/50 odds of a Pyrrhic victory at best. Is this really how you want to go?

Is either that, or wait, muster again next turn, if there is one… and search for some cards to see if any advisers appear that could change things (provided there is a next turn)

Your call. Just making sure, as I did with Whistle_Pig, that you know it’s a pointless campaign (well, there is still that 2% chance for you, rather than 0%, but still.)

I think I’d rather try, and lose, than wait, do nothing, and lose. There might be more chances on waiting, but there is still that feeling of… I did nothing…

OK. By lose, you mean let Yashima win? You have to keep the people’s favor, and she has to keep the darkest secret, and the die roll at the start of your next turn has to be 3+ for that to happen. Admittedly there isn’t much force on the table to turn that outcome around, but there must be other options. For example: work out a deal with GeeBizzle to do with the sceptre whatever it is you want done with the sceptre that you need it so badly for?

I probably shouldn’t harp on about this, sorry. I’m just saying - there is scope for negotiation. IIRC, I think you rule the Tinker’s Fair?

Technically, I cannot exile Yashima, only GeeBizzle can. And I cannot exile her as soon as I recover the Sceptre…

Sorry, rest of players…

I am changing my move, yet again…

I am not opposed to deals. Although to conduct that exile I would need favour, I don’t think you can trade favour?

IIRC the tinker’s fair is on the board and anyone ruling it or at the site can take a minor action to trade favor, secrets, relics with anyone else.

Just to be clear - there is only one card in the cradle discard (22 in provinces, vision buried deep, and 4 in hinterland, 2nd is vision). Please confirm your search action.

Well, for what is worth, search away, as I cannot search on the main deck…

At least I will get something out of it in case the game does not end this turn.

Question: as the empire rules the Lush Coast, can I use the Welcoming Party when searching and playing an advisor?

Yes. (Padding)

I think you don’t have a secret to spend - it’s face down.

Oh I forgot about that. Sorry, then I will go back to my original plan to search in the Hinterlands. I‘ll edit my post in a moment.

There are 4 cards in the Hinterlands, but the second one is a Vision. I don’t know whether that will affect your choice of search target, so please let me know.

Then definitely the world deck. Who needs visions when they have an empire to defend?

Oh, just for clarity, it’s now 5 cards in the Hinterland, 3rd is a Vision. I think you also know what the top card is (IIRC it’s probably the Lancers). So just one card you might not know the suit of.
