Oath PBF companion thread, for rules questions and the like

Just the site.

Or do I have to be there?

Ah, I missed that. If you campaign at rocky coast, and add buried giant as another target, rocky coast is a compulsory target and Yashima gets the option to weigh in as an ally with all her Warbands. You may want to start the campaign elsewhere!

The campaign rules of this game still confuse me. I will modify the post.

Actually, quick question. If I Trade with the Disgraced Captain, can I still use his ability when Campaigning? My guess is no, but want to verify.

Yes, you can. Currency on a card does not prevent its use as a battle plan (this makes sense, because otherwise you could lock up an opponents non-adviser plans before starting a campaign).

Oh good, that makes things easier.

No problem moving the warband, but you need a target where you are to start a campaign.

Can’t I start it from my current site?

If I understood your latest edit, you didn’t travel, so you have no targets at your current site.

When campaigning, your initial target must be where you are - a pawn, a relic, a banner, a site. If the site is controlled by your enemy, it’s a compulsory target. Then you can add on any other targets, including sites anywhere. If you have no targets where you are, first you have to Travel.

(Further, you always have to worry about warbands on player boards if you are targeting anything where a player is)

Okay, I think I have got it this time.

Looks fine to me. Are you going to campaign for only the one site regardless of Chewy’s response?

(Note that your targets must be declared before battle plan use is declared, but a conversation about the campaign can of course take place before anything is locked in)

Yes, just the one.

Looks like you spent 5 but only traded for 4 favor?

That…is correct. Oops. Modified.

The problem with virtual games: can’t hold the currencies in hand!

Just so we are clear: the keep is free. The only reason not to use the keep would be if you want COMaestro to win, which is entirely possible. Extra Provisions would cost one favor. You have one favor.

Oh, I misread that. I will keep that favour, and stick to just The Keep.

Am I right that the cost to exile Yashima is still 5 favour?

I say it is :infinity::blush:
I think it is still 5 no matter what I say

Yes, that is correct.

I don’t understand the “guarantee citizenship” bit here. You have the controls, the decisions are yours.

The Chancellor will win if you exile Yashima, Yashima will win if you don’t. Either way, it’s an Empire win, so all player boards will stay on the side they are on at the end of this game.

(The Chancellor will either remain chancellor or become an exile, as we are using a house rule of maintaining player to colour continuity, and the “chancellor’s colour” is currently on the exile side)
