Leaving Earth (Base Game and Mercury) Pbf

(What I would suggest is that to save effort I only comment on techs with neither 0 or 3 cards on them.)

  • I’ll hand my 3 probes to @RogerBW in return for sharing my Rendezvous testing results with him.

3.2.1...

A major failure.

OK. I’ll buy that off (leaving me ¤20 and a Saturn, plus one card on the advancement, I believe?)

@Yashima do you want to try this again?

(That is correct.)

OK, I’ll end my turn here. 5 payload space to LEO on my other 1-card Saturn is potentially up for grabs; @Yashima gets first refusal. I’ll probably launch on my next turn this year even if nobody wants the capacity.

@pillbox is next.

(I’m interested in any unused payload space.)

First Part of First Turn:

Buy Soyuz for $8 and test launch it. Remainder of my turn depends on the outcome.

The Soyez launches successfully!

:thinking:

Spend $10 to discard the Success.

Buy a Probe ($2) and an Atlas ($5)

That concludes NASA’s planned actions for 1958 unless someone would like to contribute funding to NASA’s budget for further testing/launches.

Oops, too bad. When my turn comes around again, repeat my previous thingy: buy 3 probes and hand to @RogerBW

Ps i should have spent 12 of my 25 megabucks now.

And I’ll do the same as before, launching the Saturn with 3-probe constellation.

(I would offer two more payload, but I think they would become part of the single craft I hand over to yashima - at least until we have working rendezvous tech.)

French turn. Launch a Juno into orbit on a two stage atlas.

Purchase rendezvous for $10.

Attempt to rendezvous juno and probe…

Minor failure. Juno is damaged pay $5 to remove.

Pay $10 to research Ion thrusters.

@RogerBW

What was that? Not the next Saturn surely?

Btw I think I am a cylon. I don’t have a plan. And also: good night (1am over in MET)

Yes the next Saturn. Unfortunately. On the plus side I am sure that all future Saturn’s will be 100% successful.

Also, if you are a cyclon, I have a floppy haired scientist with access to both ion technology and fully researched surveying who might let you peek at our mainframe in exchange for your own tech.

OK. So. That wasn’t ideal. What are the odds? (1/27, actually.)

¤5 to remove the outcome, obviously. That leaves me ¤15.

“The first one fizzled, and the other two exploded. We now have a human-rated launch system!”

Buy one more Saturn, end turn, probably end year.

I know @yashima has more actions for this year.
