I cancelled my order of “Wormholes”, still not sure about it. And I’ve had it on order for months, got sick of it.
This morning I was surfing for vegetarian BBQ recipes as our annual „Idiots BBQ“ is on Jan 6–same procedure as every year. So somehow I came across one of the OLGS I frequent. I sincerely just clicked past the tab that had reloaded and showed Evergreen was in stock… seeing how that was in stock I considered that they might have others… and quickly checked boardgameprices to see if anything from my current buy-list might have come in as well making an order worthwhile…
So I saw that an entirely different shop had Clank! Catacombs available… I quickly checked and it was the only shop. I headed over, logged in, put it in my cart, went to pay and saw they had raised the amount where shipping is free to 60 and the game was 58. So in order to save 4,- I went looking for something else to order and by the time I had found a minor Feast for Odin expansion I didn‘t have yet about 5 minutes later when I had just decided on the form of payment… Clank! Catacombs was out of stock.
So … I didn‘t buy it and now have a severe case of FOMO
PS. We are BOTH excited for this new iteration on Clank! Which is probably our favorite deck builder.
Ha great I bought the German translation of that book today in town
I didn‘t even check reviews it just looked good (also it was the only option). Any specific recipes to try (I am keen on the Gnocchi-spiesse)
Those Gnocchi weren’t great tbh! They were nice but not easy to cook. Probably easier to just toss in pesto.
The carrots with feta was fantastic
Chinatown… I still want it but I’m trying to restrain myself of spending money.
Hostage Negotiator plus expansions for 100 NZD. I was close. Luckily, somebody else snatched it…
I’ve not bought Chinatown so many times.
Every November - December I put a stack of stuff aside for myself to buy after the Xmas rush is over if I have enough money.
I don’t know why I do this particular tradition: I never have enough money, and almost everything invariably goes back out in January.
So I didn’t just buy:
Star Trek Ascendancy Breen
Star Trek Ascendancy Dominion War
Super Skill Pinball Star Trek
Turing Machine
Railroad Ink Green
Infinity RPG TAG Sourcebook
The Red Cathedral Expansion
I still have the Sidereal Confluence expansion set aside, as well as a small Star Wars Armada expansion (one of the tournament packs, technically) and a copy of the Warp’s Edge expansion. I am hopeful I can still pick those up soon.
Read up SideCon’s expansion rules and it doesnt seem to be an instant and smooth inclusion
…I’ve only bought it once.
I am bad at not buying games at the moment. But I believe I managed to not buy Zoo Vadis despite the pretty meeples loudly yelling „back this game“ but 3+ player counts fare really badly here.
Oh now that I see my last post here, I need to add this to the recent big fomo-purge geeklist I made: Games I didn't Buy I’ve never had so many comments on a geeklist I made
I just wanted to note this here that making a big long list of games that I didn’t buy was a bit cathartic even though immediately after I made it I went and bought one of the games from the list (Marvel Champions) but I think I have made my “peace” with most of the games on the list.
Stick a bunch of good games on a geeklist and you’ll get people subscribed to those games showing up. Title it something “negative” and you’ll get the comments
That is true, I got quite a few comments of the kind how good some games are or that some games that are OOP are being reprinted soonish.
I had no idea the number of new geeklists is so small that people randomly find my list. It’s fine though. Everything is nice and civil. I am just surprised because comments are unusual in my experience so far.
PS: it has a couple of Splotters on it, mostly because they are OOP
I’m just saying, they probably aren’t randomly finding your geeklist. A post or an entry in a list for a game they subscribed to appears in their subscriptions, they get a notification. I click on every notification for things I’m subscribed to, though I think I must have filtered out geeklists.
Subscribing to a game seems weird to me. I can see some reasons for it but it still feels odd.
At some point, I went and unclicked all those because I got so many notifications that the ones I was interested in went unnoticed. I had also subscribed to several designers… it just gets too much at some point. Now I have only subscribed to a small number of on-going geeklists.
PS: least surprising list I’ve ever seen
I sometimes subscribe to games that I’m waiting to be published to get updates on timelines
