Travel Games is great. They are pricey, but that’s to be expected from imported stuff.
Mr Ben is indeed an excellent store owner.
New small Yokai Septet has arrived
Standard teaspoon for scale. Note that the box floor is elevated; this might fit in a standard deck case.
Bought two games which will be xmas presents for people including me, so I can’t tell you what they are coz it’d spoil the surprise.
Comic Hunters is $17.49 plus delivery on US Amazon. I bought it. Shipping etc to the UK doubled the cost.
Free international returns should it be a bad copy (there are plenty, see the BGG thread).
Found stock of SAS Rogue Regiment, the game just sounds so cool. Although I think you’re meant to be stealthy, which is not normally my style. And that means I’ll get to play it before the kickstarter for the expansion finishes. Sigh, Kickstarter, why must you tempt me with all in pledges (you can get the expansion plus all the content from the first kickstarter).
I found a bundle of Turncoats and Lock (which I hadn’t heard of) on eBay for a bit less than a new copy of Turncoats and minus the expensive shipping from Scandinavia
unfortunately a couple of the eyelets on Turncoats have come off, so I either need to find the right tool to put new ones on or do a bit of old school sewing
We have one, so if it’s not sorted by Airecon, remind me and I’ll ask my wife…
“A modern card game” is such a weird tag line.
It’s very much in keeping with the “weird artefact you discovered in an attic” feel it’s going for.
(I think the red stripe means it’s the second edition, with a slightly better rulebook, though mine is superior.
)
There’s an element of pretentiousness for sure, a bit like when literary fiction writers try their hand at SF but insist it isn’t. But it’s backed up with a damn fine game and I very much like the aesthetic.
- Starts reading
- Is immediately reminded of V-Commandos / V-Sabotage
- Checks BGG…
Speaking of secret Santa: my gift arrived today and it is Petrichor. This has been on my wishlist for ages but I’ve never got as far as buying it
I recently bought a magazine about local Black Forest stuff that includes recipes, interesting sites, people from around the Black Forest region where I live.
In part I bought the magazine because there was an article on a traditional local trick taking game I had never heard of: Cego (Cego - Wikipedia)—I was born here but my parents were not, so the local traditions are not always something I know a lot about even though I have lived here all my life.
And since the article was of course written because someone had made a nice new deck with illustrations based on Black Forest animals and the facecards with traditional costumes… I couldn‘t resist ordering one.
I am reasonably sure I can get the locals to try it that one.
This seemed like a good find at Goodwill for 6 standard credits…
… but turns out a few cards and the rocket are missing, and instead there are mystery mini cards from some other game ![]()
Perhaps a Christmas holiday project to work out how to make it functional

It has arrived. The latest out of Dan Hallagan’s office/living room/Obsession? ![]()
Upper right demonstrates the need for his next plan: a consolidated rulebook. I’ll happily pay for it. Just make it!
The Zetteleswirtschaft is now causing lid lift. After air-lift, it’s the worst lift. I much prefer ski-lift or uplift(ing stories).
Wandering Towers, everyone says it’s great, but I’m a bit worried about my terrible memory
Parcel from ZATU arrived
- Stalk Exchange
- The Gang
- Xylotar
- Sandbag
