I know a few local people that will have it. I want to play it!
Picked up lord of the rings duel yesterday from my FLG. Got (nicely) called out by the owner for watching the shut up & sit down review. Apparently a few orders came in around the same time.
For Ā£12 Iād buy it, play it with five once and sell it
Most games from Osprey are such nice productions! Iām not really familiar with Crescent Moon (I chose to ignore when I first looked at it), but thatās Ā£65 RRP, so if you want it, thatās quite the deal.
Play it with five once is quite the rub!
Feel like I have been seeing this on sale a lot for $25-30, and I remember being fascinated by the sound of it when it was discussed on a SU&SD podcast. However, it is a game I am pretty certain would never get to the table. Thus, I have not pulled the trigger on any of the aforementioned sales.
Rogue Regiment, a WW2 cooperative game where you play commandos. Actually, it sounds a lot like War Story: Occupied France (which Iāve had on order for weeks now). War Story is a narrative game, I guess thatās one difference.
Also, ordered an expansion (Deathmaw Valley) for Project ELITE (which we love). I saw it appear on a local shops list,. and thought it was a re-release, but there was nothing on BGG about it. Maybe itās a mistake, weāll see I guess.
Edit: Deathmaw Valley shipped (and now shows as out of stock). I bought another expansion, R.O.O.K, and thatās now also showing as out of stock, but havenāt received a shipping notice, maybe I got the last one. Maybe they found all these old expansions in the back of the store or something.
I bought grand Austria hotel which is almost certainly a mistake as two kickstarters are coming in this month (November).
Well, I couldnāt just order game sleeves, so I had to add The Search for UAPs (we like deduction games).
And tonight I made the mistake of looking at expansions for Arkham Horror the card game. You know, as you do, I just wanted to be prepared. Note that we havenāt actually played the base game yet. But I think weāll like it. Anyway, after a bit of reading to figure out which ones I should be looking at (because the older base game and the current revised game have their own expansions. It looks like the revised is easier, because you just have a campaign box and an investigators box, where the older format had an expansion and you needed to buy half a dozen investigator packs.
Anyway, I bought The Dunwich Horror and The Path to Carcosa, which seems to be the popular ones. But I could only find the investigator box for Dunwich, so Iāll have to keep an eye out for the campaign box (there was stock, but it seemed twice the price it should be).
Also grabbed The Inheritors, and Lotus (since somebody wrote a glowing review of it).
Yokai Septet arrived today! In a smaller format than I expected.
Standard deck of cards provided for scale. I do like how they put a little removable insert in the box to accommodate sleeves, though unless this sees a lot more play than I expect, I will have no need for that.
finally also spent an hour chatting with FLGS people when picking it up. now dinner then play. Crunchyroll has to wait now
That does look lovely
I hadnāt heard of this before. But I was looking at the pictures and thinking ālooks niceā and after looking at these bits specifically:
Thought āI wonder if itās an Uwe Rosenburgā. The hints are there in the rest of the components too, but something about those bitsā¦
Got the third part of Canvas: Finishing Touches as I have the first two.
It was on sale in Forbidden Planet for basically the same discount as Zatu has it on sale right now.
Arrived today. From bottom to top, meet our games #100 and 101!
Both games are now punched and bagged. Vale took 2 minutes, Kutna Hora a solid hour. Thereās a LOT of game in there. Flip side: It looks gorgeous. They both do, but Kutna is massive.
Do we have a thread for board game store discussion? I hadnāt heard of Travel Games before but their website includes mostly imported games for UK customers. Look at this cute package:
Itās got a copy of the Japanese card game Harvest, the small card game Last Penguin which is a game about keeping your fingers on cards, and the even smaller solo game Hermit which came with a chunky wooden crab token.
Last Penguin comes with a mysterious card that I think is related to another game?? Itās Japanese(?)
They also sent a little transparent guy who sits on my desk now.
Good stuff.
I love getting stuff from Travel Games. Partly because it means I can get weird (for the UK) imported games, but also because they package things so nicely and have great customer service
