Last game you bought?

I don’t remember seeing it, but then again, there were heaps of powers and white powers are the ones I regretted not exploring more.

EDIT:
I just had a look in BGG and there is no power named Slavery on the tiles, but Domination is there and I suspect it might be the substitute…

The colors were changed. “White” is now “Diamond”.

The “Slavery” power tile has been renamed to “Magical Support”.

And people say nothing ever changes for the better. That’s refreshing news! Thank you!

So, Tales of the Arabian Nights arrived yesterday, and my, is it a big box!! Cannot wait to give it a go.

So numbers are growing in my collection, and I have to start thinking of culling some games. Little project for the weekend, I guess, but my candidates are Tiny Epic Pirates and Love Letter (older version, I won the newest version on a raffle in an event last year) to start with.

That is a kingly gift!

Wow! That’s a great game! I have a copy we played twice before realizing that whispering into a friend’s ear is surprisingly intimate.

And that I suck at whispering. Like, my brain just doesn’t process it very well. I stage-whisper without trying, it’s just what I do.

You can’t let two games go without bringing at least one in right? On the heels of a couple trades this morning, I let myself scoop up an old copy of Dead Men Tell No Tales along with The Kraken expansion and pirate miniatures upgrade. I would have normally abstained from the mini pack with a game like this, but the sculpts are actually really nice and it helps bring it in line with the added plastic of the expansion.

This is getting/has received a reprint via Renegade, but they went for a larger base box in order to support all the (same) content with a comprehensive insert. A nice idea which looks to have been executed well, but I like the tiny pancake of the Minion Games original and was confident I could get it all in there without much hassle.

Lo and behold! Or, avast me hearties, or something:

  • Evidence I overpay for nostalgia for scale.

Chock full though:

I am still on a game buying hiatus, but my husband has applied no such restrictions to himself, so now we have Lanterns, Canopy, and Ecosystem

This afternoon I have acquired both Heaven and Ale and Meeple Circus, but more importantly have met the very generous @mistercrayon

Hopefully getting a game in the diary

I got some long awaited preorders which I freed from the order that now only includes Art Decko which is apparently having trouble getting to Europe:

  • 4 Railroad Ink expansions (Engineer, Eldritch, Clouds & Electricity)
  • Voll Verplant (already played 4 games of this, I like it. Small route building flip&write by Hisashi Hayashi)
  • Wooden Meeples + 5th player for Orleans
  • Another Jigsaw Puzzle this time with the cover of Terra Mystica

That IS a very kind gift. Oop for a while (possibly indefinitely) and prices pretty high.

I’ve played it a few times with an incompetent friend who didn’t understand how to pass others’ messages along - some serious frustration! Pick your team wisely!

Also Calico, The Great Fire of London, 7 Wonders Architects, and Origins: First Builders.

I have bought… A scrunchie

My FLGS has one last copy on their shelves for 8€. oO. I might just go pick it up. How language dependent is this? It might be a German copy…

I hope that it’s at least a deluxe Kickstarter scrunchie with all of the stretch goals.

The stretch goal is for it to keep my hair out of the way whilst gaming!

It’s almost 100% text. Very language dependent!
Not sure on the print status of German versions.

Dual Gauge is available as a PnP, so got that. The expansions will be also available. I’ll get them all and print the maps in one big run. In the meantime I’ll ‘manufacture’ the other parts

Picked up Good Puppers off the praise of SVWAG, Café off the praise of Rahdo, and Mini Rogue off the praise of the internet at large. Café is the game I’m most interested in as a game, but it’s hard not to be drawn in by those pups!
