Beyond the Sun, heard a lot of good things about it
got more notifications of Kickstarters delivering soon. and just now opened a game that includes some beer coastersā¦
my first 18xx
Put a cheap bid on a copy of the King is Dead first edition. Forgot all about it, but apparently no one else was interested!
Iām not sure what I was thinking when I bid, Iāve heard some good things about the game but I honestly know nothing about it.
So⦠18DO + Skull?
Actually now that I think about it ⦠18DO is my third game with coasters
I got 16 trades in my Maths trade. at least I didnt spend money ābuyingā them!

Fleet the card game, not the dice game. With the Arctic Bounty expansion
Leaving Earth - this one was suppose to go to @EnterTheWyvern but the reruns gave it to me and I lost Mezo

Still, Iām happy about it
Polis - the 2 player War/Euro reimplementation of Polis: Fight for the Hegemony. Totally worth a try if you only play 2 player Euros and dont mind combat.
Jump Drive - another Tom Lehman. I might stick to Race but Iāll give it a shot.
Key Market 2nd ed - Yes! Another Key game in my possession!
No. Im not gonna list all 16
I got a bigger Blokus
In other news my preorder of Beyond the Sun came in. Now known locally as Beyond the Spreadsheet after someone called it āThe Spreadsheet Gameā
Ooh. Where from?
Still looks out of stock everywhere in the UK on boardgame prices
Meeples Corner, it was labelled as sold out on preorders
Possibly means the restock will be more available soon though
Probably a good idea to keep an eye on stockists who often keep some preorder stock back for sale on release day, like Dice & Decks
They havenāt played Leaving Earth. That is an excel game. Beyond the Sun may look as enticing as a spreadsheet but at least you donāt need one to play it.
Spreadsheets? Pah. I do my mission planning with a fountain pen and a notebook.
And Perl programs running on my phone.
Leaving Earth for me is āCognitive Overload to the Point of Losing the Ability to Speakā the Game.
Game shop was having a sale, so (of course) I bought some games
Hats, Gorus Maximus, Mysterium Park, Kitchen Rush, and some Scythe metal coins
Shem Phillips, noice!
Itās the only game we have from him (base and Hall of Heroes) but we really enjoy it. The box was on sale, and so much nicer to use than the multiple tiny boxes.
Iād like to try some his other games at some point. I think Circadians: First Light is near the top. Iām also intrigued by the follow up, Chaos Order that is more of an area control/troops on a map game.
I do recommend Architects, it is a lot of fun, and well balanced. But started on Raiders and I do enjoy playing it once and again, specially as my daughter loves the art (and specially gathering the female characters)
