I believe it is the only insta death allowed, unless a player can intentionally self sacrifice. Which I do not think is allowed.
I for one am a bit curious to know the motivations behind both the Empath and the Fortune Teller revealing themselves so early in the game. I mean they are both prime targets for the demon to remove because they get updated information every night.
And I am a bit curious as to why the demon wouldnāt kill the Fortune Teller after the Empath conveniently removed himself?
This does seem a bit suspicious to me.
For my part - I revealed because I was targeted by @COMaestro as soon as he revealed his role. Whether if Iād played my role better people would have believed me I donāt know.
Why I was spared - all I can say is that you lot had me tied to the stake and were lighting the torches when intervention struck. I think the Imp expects the village to the work for them.
When I revealed I was the Empath, all I did was ask you and @yashima to speak up, because my ability pinged one of you as evil. You then claimed to be the Fortune Teller, but did not identify any info you got from the previous night. You eventually did say you scanned @RossM, but not the other person, claiming you did not want to make them a target for the Imp, which makes no sense. Once you have declared your role, there is no reason I can see not to share your information. All you would be able to share is whether or not a scan of two people pinged one of them as the Imp. If both players came up clean, there is no reason not to share that. That is what makes you suspicious to me.
There is no way anyone can just kill themselves that I am aware of, at least in the Trouble Brewing set. And if there were some method of doing so, I would only consider it fair to publicly whisper to @GeeBizzle, as in a RL game, the Storyteller would need to know the player wants to suicide which could only happen if the player spoke to them directly.
@yashima - my motivation came down to no one was saying anything except in whispers, which is kind of boring. Having some useful information, namely one of my neighbors is evil (barring me being Poisoned or Drunk), I felt it would be useful to identify myself and share that info with everyone. Empath ability is not as useful as the Fortune Teller, as my info always involves my closest living neighbors, which only change if one of them dies. A Poisoner can really mess with me as I would detect different info in the night if I am targeted, but that also helps confirm the presence of the Poisoner, which is useful info in its own right. With a suspected Drunk in our town, though, there would still be some ambiguity.
It is a bit suspicious that the Imp did not kill the Fortune Teller in the night. However, there was already a vote to execute @Captbnut, which passed. The Imp may be counting on that happening again, so went with someone else and is relying on the town to do its dirty work.
Ok point taken
All I can say is that I didnāt understand why what I was saying didnāt make sense; I played last round poorly and ended up on a pyre because of it.
So you are the Undertaker then?
Itās hard to tell the difference between āplaying poorlyā and ābeing sneakyā in this kind of game, I think. This is probably why one of the groups I game with always accuses me of being the saboteur in the game of the same name, even when Iām not playing
Iām now quite worried that I am playing my role wrong.
Cool. Iāve turned this into an existential crisis!
Right. Drawing a line under my whingingā¦,ā¦
The information I got changed from day to day. I suspect Iāve been poisoned, the poisoner didnāt expect me to recheck the same people and that was why Iām still alive.
You could be a drunk.
Could be, but I donāt see why Iād have survived the imp unless they knew Iād be monkeyed with
Either we have a spy who knows youāre drunk. Or a poisoner who knows because they poisoned you, or youāre a baddie.
The first two are definitely plausible.
The last could be true, but it isnāt
Tricky thing for that is the Imp wonāt know unless told by the Spy/Poisoner. If Spy, that could have be relayed at any time. If Poisoner, he or she would have needed to whisper to the Imp after making the decision to do so. But there have been a lot of whispers, so thatās probably not much help.
So what you are saying here @COMaestro is that I canāt be evil because Iāve only whispered to a player confirmed to be good?
I would not go that far. The only good players I will put as 100% are myself and Najim.
Fair enough, but if I am evil I have not communicated with the other evil player. Is that fair?
And surely whistle pig is probably good?
I think I have to agree to that one.
