Agree to disagree. The art for Bonanza is bad. The art for Sushi Go is nauseating.
The pudding is nightmare fuel, but I quite like the horrified maki roll
I’d probably skip games of both games on art alone though.
I like the German Sushi go. It might be just a bit of “change is as good as a rest” from the ubiquity of English Sushi go but also I appreciate the risk surrounding such a look.
Zoo Vadis has some great looking character. I’d play it if it could a) get a regular group together and b) thought they would dig that type of game.
Wow. I had no idea… there is a lot of nightmare fuel in even the limited number of cards I saw at a quick glance.
And surprisingly sexualized. Not where my mind goes when I think about sushi, but hey, no judgment here
Ok I’ll be an outlier here—I had a look and I LOVE it. If I needed a copy of Sushi Go, I’d go out of my way to get it [the German version] for sure.
You are a sick, sick man!
I’ve never seen a version of Sushi Go which didn’t have gross artwork… I wouldn’t buy any of them on that basis.
I have the original version of Sushi Go, the art is adorable
Plenty of time to save up!
I’m glad he confirmed he is working on it. I don’t need to find the 1st edition at stupid price.
The Quest for El Dorado: Dragons, Treasures & Mysteries | Board Game | BoardGameGeek
This is getting unfair now to the ones who had the older Ravensburger edition. The newer Dutrait version will be out in Germany so far. But you can still stick with only base game El Dorado
Yes absolutely unfair! I’ll hope for a big box version and sell my current one at some point… for now… meh.
On a different note: I put the German edition of Federation on my anticipated games list. Can you please all buy and play the English version and let me know if it is as good as Tom V makes it out to be?
With the community maps, Heroes and Hexes and the promo pack I’m actually happy with El Dorado as is.
This seems to be adding complexity. I like the straight A to B run.
I just saw that Asmodee North America has announced a Q2 release for Village Big Box.
It has been years since I played Village. It can’t still be good, right?
… right?
I must admit I love it. But not enough to pay an arm and a leg to get it in a Big Box.
Perfectly OK euro.
Nice idea on the workers die track.
Yeah. Nice tempo trade-offs on when to kill off your family members.
The expansions adds some good stuff like different goals. The Inn and Brewery are nice. But both Inn and Port expansions adds a lot of bloat
LOL not even selling the whole package. Base game only £100 please, not including shipping and VAT.
Although I think base Cyclades is best Cyclades, there are a few things I wrinkled my brow about with the announcement.
- The auctions in Cyclades always seemed pretty tight, so I’m not sure why you would want them to be shorter (and “more dynamic” could not feel more like marketing gibberish).
- Adding more gods (ala the expansions) just made it more likely you’d be unable to bid on what you wanted if playing below the max player count.
- Sacrificing heroes to provide a metropolis always seemed dumb to me.
- I never felt the board layout mattered a great deal in Cyclades in the grand scheme of things, so I’m not sure how much variety a modular board is going to provide.
