Haggis is brilliant. Very similar to Tichu but 2 player rather than teams.
Rallyman DIRT has now slipped far enough that it’s now an anticipated game for 2023.
I’d be playing it at 3p
Not tried with 3, but I suspect it’ll still be very good
On BGG, Melissa Mendick, the President of The Train Gamers Associations, posted saying that Darwin Bromley’s widow, Trella Bromley, has obtained the rights to many old Mayfair games, including the entire Empire Builder series. She is looking to republish them via a new company Darwin’s Toys. Darwin’s Toys is working with Steve Jackson Publishing and they expect to have Empire Express republished soon(ish?).
They are also testing new maps.
The setting seems like it will lose some of the craziness of the original. Nice art though (same artist as High Society).
I immediately note that, with that map, the paragraph telling you that you’ve fallen into a deep sleep aboard your boat and drifted to a random port should seem a little more reasonable than it did on the occasion when this happened to me – where the implication seemed to be that I’d “drifted” off the south edge of the map, around Africa, and in through the Strait of Gibraltar in order to reappear in the Mediterranean in the north-west of the map :)
Gotta love those tranquil, transoceanic naps.
Couldn’t you have gone through the Suez Canal?
Maybe if I’d encountered a “sleep for 1000 years” paragraph earlier in the story?
Eyeing this with interest:
Exciting!
I wonder if it will be out in time for my wife’s birthday? Hopefully it won’t be £50
Surely not. Just £60
I have no idea, just being silly.
It’s an MSRP of $35, so I’m saying £35.
On the wishlist
Could be interesting down the road, if/when we’ve mastered the base game (it’s really really good, we’ve just played only two games and we tend to be gun-shy about expansions).
This is right at the top of my anticipation list now. I saw some rumors the other day but it wasn’t in the database yet at that point…
Very keen to see on what the new BTS exp brings
Well Zoo Vadis has caught my attention. If only for filling the gap of ‘45 minute negotiation game that doesn’t have terrible art like Bohnanza’.
Oh, come on! The art isn’t that bad, like…bwahahaha! Sorry, I tried, I couldn’t get that out with a straight face, even in text!
Though, it is still better than the artwork for the German edition of Sushi Go!
Debatable.
