That’s been on our wall for 10 years and I’m still seeing (and pissing myself at) new ones.
I was born not far from ‘Six Mile Bottom’ and currently live near ‘St Mellons’

Dummer is near where I grew up. Make of that what you will
Been to two of those when I was working in Hampshire, Nether and Middle.
EDIT:
I must admit my favourites from my travels, for their resemblance to Spanish rude-ish words, were Warrington and Scropton, and then there was Crapstone, Devon, which I nearly wet myself laughing when I saw the sign while driving by.
All of them!
i was afraid of that.
The YouTube algorithm threw up a montage of drone footage of the beach where I used to be a volunteer lifesaver:
Whereas I don’t have to go anywhere for a couple of days at least, so am enjoying this rare occasion.
Today was sunny but very windy. Tomorrow is supposed to rain. At the same time my friend in Portland tells me how they had to leave their house after a storm went through and heating was out and I’m getting severe weather warnings from home chaos everywhere
Right now, I am sitting here with a view of one of my favorite mountains:
Just back from 4 days of camping by Lake Taupo, in the centre of the North Island. I had not arranged for anything, but I was in the namesake of one of our favourite Topic of the day contributors: Acacia Bay.
Sorry I didn’t bring back any pictures, I have a reputation for being terrible at taking any photos at all that I need to keep up with.
I’ve skydived over Lake Taupo. It was amazing
Have you been to the quarry there? I wouldn’t bother. It’s not great.
In lieu of @Chewy77 … I took a bunch of photos on our honeymoon in 2009. Here are some from the area:
The next two should be Lake Taupo… because we spent several days there—mostly to go back and see the falls every day…
(it was May… we managed to travel in winter… because well… )
My better half did as well not that long ago, as a present from her friends for her birthday. I didn’t. As a rule, I don’t jump off planes that can land perfectly well.
No idea what quarry you mention…
Thanks for the pics. One day I will do a compilation of our best pics here. One day.
It was a sort of joke… crap stone? But if you have to explain them…
Oh, sorry, I thought you were onto my last comment about lake Taupo. Never mind.
Which just brings to mind:
yesterday it rained all day. today we had about 20cm of fresh snow … maybe more it’s hard to tell. it’s been snowing since before woke up. only a bit of skiing and later a walk. it’s nice to be outside when it’s snowing. if only it wasn’t so windy as well.
Looks like a good day to be inside playing board games
