Sorry, that was referring to my homeland, Gran Canaria.
No, they are kept away from towns, at least in the North Island.
Goats are way too interested in anything other than lawn. But rent a sheep, well, that is quite something. I guess the goats for the weeds and the sheep for the lawn could actually work. Mind you, most goats I know of are way too clever and great escapists.

Oh, okay. I had no idea you were from there, though perhaps you’ve referred to it before and I missed it.
It looks as if Gran Canaria’s population density is about 25% greater than England’s, which seems marginal. Scotland and Wales drag Great Britain’s population density way down.

This is a London house from 1595 and… most London flats today are not different enough from it.
(In Smithfield, just north of St Paul’s.)

Is it… is it just a roomy staircase?

You joke, but I lived in a similar one just off Tottenham Court Road. Grade 2 listed building which used to be theatre changing rooms, it was basically vertical.

But if you look at the capital…
3.695 inhabitants/km2 is quite decent…

I’m listening to that currently. I’ve been working remotely since Oct 2018 and having little problems so far. But then my entire company is remote.

It’s great when you can but it’s 100% not suitable for my job (Experimental Officer) unless a company wants to build me a fully working lab environment.

Definitely not pets, so this is probably the right thread… in weather warm enough for it, my office is in the garden, and for the last few days a thoroughly fearless blackbird has been foraging past me a few times a day. Today I took the good camera out there.

Judging by the cranial scars it might be more fearless than is good for it.

Quite possibly. We have a local cat who is the terror of all things smaller than him and many things larger.

A key fixture of Merriwether park near to my house is the “Rocket Slide”. It was there while I was growing up and still finds favor as a play structure even now:

We have had only rain all the time and it will be so for the remainder of this week. The Rhine is 8 meters above normal which would be a lot even in spring when the snow melts in the alps. But it is July! Summer.
The picture shows the local stream “Alb” which is usually a small rivulet at this time of year maybe a third the width of this. This is just about to flood the bike path beside it.
