I’m not sure if I’ve posted this before, but sod it, it’s brilliant.
10 points to the person who can tell me where I first heard it
(I know this from like months ago, been in rough patch).
I hadn’t thought about this song for a while. I would definitely put Elvis’ Suspicious Minds in a top 10. Tho mood dictates music preference.
I’m going to add it to my to my special playlist.
I have a YouTube playlist of, basically older songs that I was afraid to voice that I liked growing up because I was teased a lot. It’s been cathartic to find them and remember what appealed to kid me.
I’ve been digging this one, which I heard like summer 95 or so. I randomly thought a about couple weeks ago and was able to track it down.
Did you see Yo-Yo Ma playing on the West Wing and get inspired by it?
I did indeed. That’s the main piece he played on the show
Since Babylon 5 was mentioned. I used to also put this on in the car when V wouldn’t go down for a nap in the house.
Classic sound, fun, fun
I’ve spent the day listening to Dream Tröll’s entire discography. They’re a trad metal with some prog flourishes band out of England, discovered them a couple of years ago, I’m a big fan. Check 'em out why don’t ya:
It’s taken quite a while to find a copy without an horrendous shipping charge attached, but eBay eventually came through with a copy of this little beauty for a fiver. Postage was still expensive (it’s a German CD and I don’t think it was widely distributed) but still better than the new options.
I won’t tell you what I’m listening to, because it’s really not that interesting. But last week I realized I’m the only person in my house while I’m working, at least most of the time. I don’t have to wear headphones! I bought a set of (okay, not great) powered speakers to attach to my work computer, and it’s so much nicer listening to music that way. I have a decent pair of headphones, but I get sick of wearing them, because they hurt my ears after a couple hours.
I use cheap earbuds a lot, because they actually aren’t bad these days and they don’t hurt my ears.
I use moderately expensive earbuds, worth it for the improved sound quality.
My ears are not very compatible with ear buds, they either fall out, or they hurt to wear.
Yeah, the only ones that I found I can reliably wear are a Sony model (a quick Google tells me they may be the MDR-EX15LP/15AP). Other ear buds either hurt or fall off (I have some mild cauliflower ear from jiu-jitsu).
Fortunately, despite being Sony, they are dirt cheap!
After listening to Poppy’s new album on repeat for so long that she’s now my second most listened to artist of all time[1], I’ve now got Diablo Swing Orchestra’s new album on repeat.
It’s wonderful that, even after expectations set by their previous albums and the songs they’d released prior to the album coming out - meaning I knew it would be weird, they still managed to surprise me a lot. I love this band.
