Unless we’re in danger of running out of time, let’s stick to the safer method.
I agree with the current plan, and while we have no alarm and are still in our German uniforms, let’s try to keep it stealthy.
If we are lucky, we can all be in the activated cable car by the end of the next turn.
@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
OK, so Bruno shoots the door and the MG nest;
2d6: 5 + 6 = 11 for 5+
then Medic shoots the MG nest;
2d6: 1 + 3 = 4 for 5+
@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Done. (Drops a grenade.)
Enemy reinforcements (N, E, S, W):
enemy-3
enemy-1
enemy-1
enemy-3
Medic will use his saved AP to take a silenced shot at that élite:
2d6: 6 + 2 = 8 for 3+
Drops a Bombardment.
Enemies move W.
Turn 15
Well, that’s tricky. We can all get into the cable car if a single 2-dice shot gets two hits; because it’s three actions each to get into it, then one to shoot and one to activate it. We can improve our odds by making it a machine-gun shot rather than a silenced pistol, though of course that sets off the alarm. And we don’t know where the enemy will be going…
There is that TNT charge of course, but it needs to be planted somewhere to be useful. Two stealth checks have better odds than two 4+ shots…
Well, I have a Bombardment, which will clear the SW tile, and can replace it.
Bombardment’s not an [explosion], though, just a 4-dice attack - which will set off the alarm.
Does a Bombardment make us visible, like an MG42 attack?
How about this. One person moves S and tries for the double takeout, because if successful, we all get in the cable car and go. If not, then just keep shooting. I think the medic should try it, as if he can’t get them in two shots, I can move and Assault to hopefully ensure they are taken out. We could also get a lucky crowbar drop and seal off an entrance. In any case, this will leave us both with a +1 AP for enemies that enter. Bruno could then move into the cable car.
No; it has [alarm] but not [visible], like a grenade. So it will double the reinforcement rate, but not make our positions known.
COMaestro, the medic is the one person who can’t do the attack because he doesn’t have a saved AP - three to get into the cable car, plus one more to fire. But this might work if Bruno tries it. So if I’m reading you right:
- Bruno moves S, shoots S (2d for 4+).
- If that works, S and E (using a saved AP) and everyone else follows, Officer activating the objective on the way past.
- Otherwise, Bruno shoots again, and if necessary Officer moves to Assault (Medic might as well move too at that point).
The other option is that Bruno moves S, S (2 stealth checks, 3+ to pass), plants TNT, moves E and blows it up, not triggering the alarm because of the event card. But if he does get spotted he’s in trouble.
Oops, my mistake, I thought Bruno was without the +1
Bruno, make the call. Do you want to try to stealth past the guards and blow 'em up, or go for shootyness?
If the Officer does an Assault, that’s two actions, and he can’t get into the cable car this turn. Looks like the Stealth checks are the best option.
Oh, with my plan, only one person could get to the cable car if the first shot does not take out both enemies. However, both exposed commandos would have a +1 to shoot at the reinforcements. But definitely go for stealth if you think it is the best option. I just like throwing out ideas.
Bruno moves S and S.
@discobot roll 2d6
5, 5
Sneaked! Plant TNT, move into cable-car, detonate TNT.
Nice! So Medic moves into cable car, and Officer moves into the car, activating the objective on the way, which will use up his +1.
Do the blown up enemies drop equipment? If so we may pick something up on the way.
It gets blown up along with them. There’s a grenade and a bombardment along your route to pick up, though.
@RogerBW, do you have a preference?
No, let’s just bring everything and move it around later if it’s needed. I’ll randomly take the bombardment.
Enemy reinforcements (N, E, S, W):
enemy-1
enemy-1
enemy-2
enemy-1
Random event draw for enemy movement is
but the ones in the SW can’t move into the cable car to spot us, because it’s full!
The cable car moves. Nobody is visible.
I’ll do a new reply for the new turn.
