Yes, it does. But I don’t really know how to evaluate the other alternative in terms of points. Making decolonization and blockade that much harder to deal with might have long term value that I can’t assess. It was the presence of containment, and the fact that I had to both play it a round early and reveal it right at the start, that put me off most.

Ah, for some reason I misread Decolonization as Destalinization. In that case, a lot would indeed normally depend on whether they held the China Card… if you didn’t also have to play Containment on AR5 to give an out for Spacing a Red Scared Decol. I agree it’s a bit trickier than the analysis I just wrote, but in the end still looks correct to headline Korean War.
I had the China card, because it was played on AR7 the turn before to break north Korean control and create the unstable Asian situation
I know, “normally” was trying to do the work there. With China Card and CIA revealing probable play of Containment, there’s not much pressure at all from Red Scare over just playing it for OPs.

The other thing Containment does without the Red Scare play is allow Decolonization to be dumped as a 3-op card with Blockade (and with Blockade giving 2 ops as well), but in practice that didn’t actually happen.
