Twilight Imperium 4th Edition: PBF GAME 1

I’ll use Political Data Nexus

I’ll admit I’m not entirely sure what it does, but everyone seemed very impressed by it!

Okay! We’ll need @Delwayne for the second part, but the basics are pretty easy:

First, do you wish to discard any Laws currently in play? There are 2 that I am aware of:

  1. The Terraforming Initiative on Rigel I (Titans)
  2. The Shard of the Throne (Mentak)

You don’t have to, of course (and I would prefer that you didn’t get rid of that nice Terraforming Initaitve), but you have the option.

Then you look at the top 5 Agenda cards and pick any 2 you want to put into play: nobody else votes, so you can literally pick whatever outcome you want for 2 of those 5 laws (the other 3 are discarded).

You can punish enemies, you can reward friends, you can put new Laws into play… it’s variable, but almost all the Agendas are at least somewhat interesting and some of them are extremely powerful.

Just remember that only you can vote, and pick the 2 Laws you think are most powerful or interesting.

Cool

2 questions - can I see those laws please? And does everyone get to see the agendas, or does it happen in secret?

You will see all five options secretly. You will pick 2 to decide however you want (specifically with 1 vote however you want: in most cases that doesn’t matter, but occasionally it will, so keep in mind you only get that one vote total).

Those two are revealed to everyone along with the result you want for them. The other three are discarded secretly.

I don’t have the technology to Copy-Paste those laws here for you, but if you just scroll up, you’ll see them in their appropriate player boards (Titans and Mentak), you should be able to find them easily. Mine is attached to Rigel I and gives that planet +1 Resource and +1 Influence, and the Mentak Law gives them 1 Victory Point until somebody beats them in a Combat… which you still haven’t done because PDS shots don’t count as combat and you lost the Invasion (which would’ve counted had you won).

Anyway, they’re only a few posts up. Hopefully easy to find.

Let’s get rid of the Rigel law (unless you wish to bribe me not to @marx?)

I was unaware that relations between our people had so degraded that I needed to pay for something which I already own…

Still, if my friendship thus far (and my return of Archon Vail promptly, exactly as I had promised to do so) is insufficient, I can offer you… well, how many Trade Goods would be required?

You’ve got quite a few there. The Mentak are going to Nick them if I get more than 1 so there’s not much point.

How about a non aggression pact for the next full round?

Oh, I forgot!. Since I have a space dock on Ba’Kal, I would also like to do Production after the combat!

I will exhaust Kraang and Arbeddon an AI development program to build my flagship.

I believe the Mentak can only steal 1 TG per transaction. So if Marx gave you 3, the Mentak could steal 1, leaving you with 2 (assuming you had 3 or more total).

(and a flagship is there)

@Captbnut is reviewing his 5 agenda cards.
(and were you going to discard a law in play?)

I haven’t decided yet.

I’m hopeful of getting that point from conflict, and Rigel 1 isn’t a huge deal

I assure you, sir (turtle?), that it is a big deal to the Titans.

Very well. We will offer a Non-aggression agreement on the conditions that:

  1. You do not attempt or successfully capture any Titan planet during the next full turn,
  2. You do not directly or indirectly attack any Titan fleet, and
  3. You do not attempt to blockade the Alpha Wormhole in the asteroid field (we need access to Mallice, and that’s our only point of access).

If we are agreed, then I’m happy to have our borders continue to be secure.

If we are not agreed, then you may cancel the Law on Rigel 1, and we will… remember… this transgression in the future.

If you’ll match those conditions in reverse we have a deal

For the rest of the power I’ll choose

Minister of Exploration and Committee Formation please

You got yourself a deal.

We should probably wait for @Delwayne to reveal the Laws before the Yssaril take their turn.

@Captbnut I will, actually, probably blockade the Alpha Wormhole. I trust that’s okay? I don’t want anyone parking a ship there later and hamstringing me…
