Twilight Imperium 4th Edition: PBF GAME 1

I’ll have to double check, but I think the only areas that gain tokens are those with both a Wormhole AND at least one ship. In which case, the Winnu won’t have a Token in Lodor, but I will.

Lemme check…
checks

Yeah, it specifically says “Ships”, and Spacedocks are structures, not ships. So the Winnu can activate there if they’d like. I don’t know how that changes plans/what happened?

My fleets at Lodor can’t move anyway, so the Winnu can attack me there next turn if they want, so this may not be a big change, but they may not want to attack both locations? I’ll leave that up to @MIGHTYSploosh and @Delwayne to figure out.

@Captbnut Are you trying to build as much as you can, or are you trying to save enough Resources or Influence to score an objective? That will change what you can/should build.

Tha ks for clarifying that @Marx! Ill leave Lodor alone right now.

Build as much as I can

Okay, you have 17 resources (15 planetary, 2 Trade Goods) to work with, Fleet Size of 3, and Lisis can build a total of 4 pieces of plastic.

Lisis is a good place for your Flagship (central location means that its PDS can reach into a lot of neighbouring systems). So maybe Flagship (8), Carrier (3), and two fighters (1) for a total of 12: Everra, Lisis, Velnor, Perimeter, and Atlas will give you the 12 you need without having to dip into your Trade Goods… unless you want to spend trade goods, in which case use 2 of them instead of Lisis.

Using Trade Goods here isn’t a horrible idea: if you gain any more the Mentak can start “liberating” funds from you. But often times it’s nice to have a few Trade Goods hanging around for negotiations/bribes/panic buying. Your call either way: no wrong answer.

If you don’t want to build a Flagship, you can build a Dreadnaught instead. Saves you 4 Resources, so either Evvera+1 Trade good, or both Velnor and Perimeter. If I were in your shoes I would probably go with the Flagship, though… it’s impressive how much of a deterrent 3 “free” shots (plus any other local PDS) can be to most invasions. Added Bonus: PDS fire (including that from your Flagship) isn’t considered an act of hostility: it doesn’t cancel Support for the Throne or anything like that (although whether the player likes having their ships shot to pieces is a different question). So if I were to activate the Asteroid Belt (which I can’t this turn, but in the future) you can just shoot in there without in-game consequences.

Metagame, I might decide to raze your worlds to ash and then bombard the ash until it’s smaller ash and then feed that ash into a star which I would name “Folly Of Kings” as a warning to future starfaring civilizations about the dangers of crossing the Titans of Ul.

But in game nothing would happen if you took those PDS shots. :slight_smile:

I’m going to do this. Thanks

That makes it my turn.

I will play (the Action Card) “Impersonate”, exhausting Archon Vale (3 Influence) in order to draw a new Secret Objective.

That makes it @GabrielH’s turn.

Okay, catching up with things;

first, The Winnu attached me, so they’ll give back my Alliance promissory note.

Also, I was defending a wormhole, so was able to activate Dimensional Spicer, and would assign the hit to the Winnu Fighter.

For my turn, I’ll activate Imperial; I get one point for controlling Mecatol Rex, (I think I still have it?) and also will exhaust Mecatol and Vega Minor to score “Sway the Council.”

Anyone else can spend a token for a secret Objective.

I will also spend my Strategic Token in order to gain a Secret Objective (which means you need to deal me 2 when you have a moment, @Delwayne). Thanks!

I think we all forgot who owns Mecatol Rex?
There was a reason he chose card 8.

So, this is where we are at:

Diplomacy has been played. Do any of the rest of the players want to spend a strategy token to get a secret objective:
@GeeBizzle (only got 2 left)
@MIGHTYSploosh (only got 1 left)

And then it is @COMaestro turn
Let me know if a posting of your player board or map is needed.

I dont need a secret objective.

I just noticed that the Mentak promissory note requires an action to play, so I will do that for my turn.

That’s right!.. Good Point! Thank you for noticing.
