There’s quite a few companies that specialise in making flags for historic miniatures. These ones are from GMB Flags (a great company, big range of flags for different time periods and scales of minis).
This is the 24th Regiment of Foot, carrying the King’s Colour and the Regimental Colour. Image below gives a better view of both.
took a while off for physical therapy and camping, but now Rhodri of Godtear is done, which means four more minis until the set is complete. (except Grimgut, because he’s too gross without modifying, and I need a plan for that before I buy)
We’ll someone’s got to paint him! I’ll be interested in seeing what you do with him. I’m considering getting a bunch of Green Stuff, and sculpting him into something like a slovenly medieval Duke.
I think I’ll probably use one of the core boxes for boards and objective hexes, and grab bead bins or something similar for tokens, and dice (1 for each player).
The bin idea I picked up from Guerrilla Miniatures Games on YouTube; he basically picks up bead bins from Walmart for every game, and has quick and easy storage for everything. I’m hoping to do it for a few other games as well.
Anyways, as for the minis…I’m not sure. It has the same problem as Mythic Battles, in that as an open draft, every fighter is available every game. I’m thinking maybe a large storage bin you’d use for hobbies or fishing gear. It’s not pretty, but more convenient. Plus I’ll still have the core box with boards on the shelf!
Edit: As an aside, the Godtear FB teased 2 new Maelstrom Champions; some Dwarves and…Goblin Samurai!!!
If you check out the page, they were posted in April. It seems like SFG may support Godtear as well as they do Guild Ball, which is promising.
Normally I do eyes very dark, but wow, what can you do when you have bulging eyes like that? Seems like a weird sculpt. Maybe I would have painted them as goggles… but low tech without chunky straps just looks wrong.
Uh, not that I’m saying you didn’t nail those eyes. Those eyes are nailed.
Only a couple of inches and no major damage but it’s damp and smells funky so not going down there at the mo. Also my new carpet offcuts got ruined. Boo at United utilities!
Last thing I painted was the ink on these tokens for keyforge that I’m giving as gifts.
In looking more closely, it seems like the sculpt might be designed with the eyes…closed? But that didn’t look great either. I think I’m going to go for an exaggerated eye-roll, as if she’s
Going to show my son in the morning. He shall be hyped!! Going to have to get some more games in before August!!
I’m constantly surprised and confused by Steam Forge Games. On one hand, they have these massive licensed KS games, that make a million dollars or more, and range from “ok/fine” (RE 2), to apparently pretty awful (Dark Souls). On the other, hey have these competitive skirmish games that don’t make nearly as much (Guild Ball and Godtear), don’t make a splash on KS or retail, but they continue to support and develop.
I’ve discussed this before on the BGB Discord with someone, and I really believe that at least some of the people at SFG are clearly very passionate about solid competitive/skirmish games, and only use these big licensed games to fund the development of the games that they actually believe in/care about.
