The resurrected miniatures painting and showing off thread

Progress marches ever onwards! I hadn’t really considered how much longer everything takes when the models are bloody massive. I think I need to show some restraint and print sensible sized ones from now on!

I’ve been working on her right leg, and I added some magenta ink to the face to tone down the unfortunate ‘beard’ look of the shading.

Getting some Vallejo liquid silver on the marine.

Working on a base for the marine. An aldi rip off pot noodle lid, the bottom of a pork packet, and some “make your own pipe drinking straws” kit pieces.

Slow and steady. These big ones cast huge shadows on themselves that make things tricky.

I just needed to do something and finish it. A 20 minute speed job so I could say I’d achieved something.

Finished off Rattlebone & Co. Never really did get dialed in to the spindly guy. Had to walk away. On to Rhodri!

A dozen of these boys finished last night (bar the base). Another dozen to come to finish the regiment.

Nice job on the camo!

So I think this guy is done. The base is filled with a fluorescent and glow in the dark/not direct sunlight pigment.

Rhodri & Co. are slowly coming together. This is the first batch of Godtear minis that have had some challenging sculpt issues. 13/1 isn’t a bad run.

That is a fantastic effect! (among several other fantastic effects). I love the spectrum of hues you managed with the goop. It’s almost enough to get me to start basing (but not quite )

A quicker one for today.

And a ridiculous high vis ninja to go with the Chibi skeleton from last week.

So I might have got distracted from working from home…
Fitted a new LED panel above my painting cave and moved the small lights to be side-lighting.
Also put some carpet leftovers down so the cold basement floor is less unpleasant.

It’s designed for suspended ceilings so I just superglued it to the ceiling after the wiring was done… This might not have been the best choice, we will see!

Where, might I ask, did you get that LED panel? We’ll be moving house eventually and I have big plans for the garage that now must include one of those.

eBay. £18, intended for office use. I can send you a link, but there are hundreds. You have to be comfortable doing mains wiring.

I’ve failed to concentrate on just one thing as usual…

Perhaps I’ll finish this one before starting more projects!
