We believe in you!

It’s a great colour scheme, and think I’m going to steal it to paint part of a ferret dressed in landsknecht clothing (link to the model in case that means nothing to you
Batch painting can slowly grind anyone done, but you’re almost there!
Ferret or badger landsknechts, wow, you got me there!
Necrons coming on slowly. Got the hex pattern down on all the rest of them now.
And finished these ones
Edit:
And some metal colours down on all except the ones that need fancy blades. Feeling positive about getting them done swiftly.
8 of my remaining 20 Yu Jing models… blacks and oranges done, greens and browns next.
Did these between struggling to finish my novel (what else is new?). Oh well, at least they’re getting done.
Now to decide if I want to cook something, or order something for dinner… gah. I am not a good fit for modern life…
These are continuing to look good, and thanks for keeping your workplace in the picture. Our AC died, it has been brutally hot for our area lately, and the ramp up to an online school year has started, so I’ve been living in MS Teams Hell. I haven’t had the energy to paint in the last week or so by the end of the day. I have, however, had the energy to window shop everyone’s painting tools and supplies, and may have convinced myself that I need some more things.
I hope your meal choice was satisfactory.
So I’ve got two main themes to work with on my little journey into terrain, and I decided to get the big set pieces built for my imperial ruins. Oh my god, set pieces indeed. This second piece I’m constructing is the larger of the two; I have the main floor built and now have a good idea as to the overall footprint of the thing and it’s huge! It’ll easily end up 30cm³.
Aside from the storage conundrum this presents, and aside from it dawning on me that I’m literally building myself a dollhouse, I’ve been forced to consider gameplay implications. Kill Team has a pretty limited scope, so I don’t want things to get too nuts… Is what I thought just before setting up my other big set piece and realizing they go together perfectly to make a colossal, blown-out structure (while remaining modular!). Suddenly I’m not making this other building a different paint scheme anymore.
Obviously not directly painting related, but it got a fire started with respect to thinking about awesome scenarios for firefights to come. It’s nice when the work gets you stoked for the gameplay.
30cm³ is 3.1cmx3.1cmx3.1cm. sounds like a storage nightmare!

On a less anal/‘that guy’ front, the glow effects on my necron warriors and a couple of the other units are now done. More to do still though.
Looking forward to seeing that scenery painted up.
I ended up making pizza (a talent I have gotten pretty good at over the pandemic). Homemade pizza still isn’t as satisfying as ordering in because my topping selection is more limited and, while the crust is usually better, “real” pizza places can do better cheese and variety of stuff to put on pizza.
That stated, it is cheaper to make. Such is life.
Finished the greens on the models today. Going to go do the browns now, take pictures, and post them here in a bit.
Edit:
Almost done these, I suppose. I can’t believe I have another 10 after this… gah… so sick of painting orange…
But that’s okay! They’re gonna get done. That’s the important part.
Getting there with these necrons. Just a few more sessions I think.

Latest Yu Jing mini. One more to go from Kalldstrom. Although it’s the Daofei and I’m going to paint it with the Daofei from Beyond Red Veil. Still, looking forward to completing the starter sets I have as the Kanren and Missile Launcher Yan Huo will be my rewards and they’re amongst the reasons I started the faction. Woop woop
The preceding sentence was important here. The Daofei is next.
I figured you knew, but I wasn’t sure. To be honest, I can’t tell half of the Yu Jing models apart half the time, not because the models look the same but because I haven’t formed those word-image links… is that a Hac Tao, or a Hsien? Was this a Ye Mao, or a Zuyong? Daofei, or Haidao?
Once I start playing with them, I’m sure that won’t be as big of an issue, but right now, yeah, I’ve built lists with the wrong model more often than not (once I used the wrong Lt profile because I thought the camo-token model was the Haidao… but of course it was the Daofei… unless I just got them mixed up again).
Cannon. British Royal Horse artillery (although lacking any limbers at present, so no horses). They can be distinguished from foot artillery by the Tarleton helmets and tailess dolman jackets worn in imitation of light dragoons.
Artillery crew are quite nice to base as they form natural little dioramas.
Completely forgot to post this after sharing the finished battalion of the Black Watch. This is my burgeoning British Napoleonic army (before the artillery), standing at one infantry bridge plus supporting riflemen.
