Pink! It’s pink That’s a plus. Not convinced flicking games are for me though.
However, they have a bunch of games they bundle in via extended pledges and I’ve already seen one I was interested in last SPIEL (Moon Base) so maybe it’s worth checking out for those other games as well which may or may not be hard to get outside of Japan.
I really thought this would grab my money, but I just can’t justify what they’re charging, especially after only playing through the base game about 0.5 times:
I’ll wait for retail (or, at the very least, critical reception)
Impression seems like a worker placement game with some player interaction. Looks very interesting. Only backed with 1 Euro. Looks like the game made a… good impression!
That’s a pretty box And book themed. Not that I’ve played either Prehistory (was interested but missed it in the sheer volume of SPIEL games) or Sakura. I’ll put this on my watchlist
Just to add to this, it also seems that the KS editions of EGG Lacerda games keep getting reprinted, so even if you want the extra fancy version, you’ll likely be able to grab it at retail.
Edit: to be fair I’m basing this on seeing one of my go-to OGS frequently getting restocks, not due to any of my own desire for his games, lol.
Depending on where you are, you can check out Board Game Bliss. They are Canadian, but also ship to the US. No idea what the rates would be.
The KS SG components are available as a “deluxe pack” expansion at retail. They are steadily increasing in price year on year (eg Vinhos MSRP has increased 25% in the last 3 years), but the cheaper postage at retail helps offset that compared to KS shipping.
In short, it’s all convoluted and obfuscated. Is KS+shipping cheaper than retail+deluxe pack? Who knows!
I was very tempted to go for The Gallerist in the pledge manager but managed to resist. I couldn’t spend a ton plus shipping on a game designer (let alone game) I’ve never played.
When I looked about a month ago there were a reasonable number of big box Lacerda games second hand on UK ebay.
I bit on Lisboa… It seems to be a fairly well-regarded one that has finally convinced me to dip my toe in the mysterious, opaque depths of Lake Lacerda.
There is a KS for a second printing of High Rise and for some reason Kickstarter told me Cole Wehrle backed it and apparently Dan Thurot also reviewed it favorably… and now I am curious…
@KIR2 I meant to ask: which ones do you like best and why? Have we debated Lacerdas in depth here or in the before place?
No idea about the game, but given raised awareness of climate issues and a particular emphasis on plastics the name of this game sounds a bit odd to me.
Yes, the focus on “plastic” as a marketing keyword struck me as odd (I’d even go so far as tone-deaf). That was my first and nearly only thought about the thing when I received the same “Cole Wehrle backed this” email.
My second thought was when I saw it was by Gil Hova. A designer I feel like I should know more about… but based on what I’ve gleaned about his output… I should probably err towards The Networks as my Gil Hova trial, as it appears to be his most successful title (by my assessment of seeing things discussed on BGG)
