I donāt think Iām one of the chips people:
If itāll leave you out of pocket Iāll take them too, but there may be someone else whoās actually expecting them.
Ah, I was wondering as I typed that
Iāll take them if no one else claims them
I would also take an extra set of tokens if there was one. But no worries if not, just let me know.
In for Cat Blues because Knizia (updated) x Bitewing was a winner last time!
Whatās this one a reissue of?
This one: Cat Blues | Board Game | BoardGameGeek
The two main differences are
-
Three round structure, with long term goals accross the three rounds
-
A ādraw back up to 4ā rules to help out with early bids starving players of cards

Now using a Cubicle 7 dice-pool system. No designers credited.
Fun novels, those! (I must read more of them.)
(For the unfamiliar, The Atrocity Archives is the starting point.)
Not sure I love the new cover art. Theyāve gone for a multi-volume theme, and itās ok, but the original cover was very different. New:
Compared with the old:
Itās a bitā¦ basic.
(But they have confirmed that the signed copies will be actual signed copies, not a sticker or a tip-in sheet. Unlike a certain other publisher.)
I have no knowledge of the brand, but I find the new art more appealing.
The beard. The hair. The eyebrow. The t-shirt. The monster stuff. It screams āearly 00s, āI recognised all the references in Spacedā guyā.
In original coverās defense, wasnāt that when the original books were set and published?
I too prefer the new cover(s). The old cover was too much. If thatās what they were going for, fair enough, but it makes the game, the setting, and the books less appealing.
I havenāt cross referenced all the content and upgrades, but it appears that the Retail Deluxe edition, usually running $160-180, can be had for $117 in the USā¦
Given the games Iāve paid more for, thatāsā¦ ok, actually. Iād still rather do less and no Castle Miniatures, but I could get behind this.
12 posts were split to a new topic: Why doesnāt this crowdfunder work?
Thatās now live. I see they essentially decided to definitely go with a larger board (folded twice instead of once; box is still Tetrarchia-sized) by making an A3 board a āstretch goalā that they would have been pretty confident of reaching. There are pros and cons to that, but I really did like how dinky Tetrarchia was, so part of me thinks thatās a shame. It may not be a bad thing on balance, though ā thereās a bit more happening on the board this time, with discs stacked on discs, and roads to be placed, and I can imagine the small board being too fiddly for some peopleās liking.
The shipping estimate is similar enough to shipping Tetrarchia from Draco (slightly higher, but not enough to make a difference, and probably accounting for inflation between now and then), so Iāve backed this.
Oh, and that wooden organiser looks lovely, butā¦ even on special itās 15 euros, and itās completely unnecessary. If I picked up one of them for each game, Iād be spending more than the cost of the new game itself. I kinda want it, but I donāt think I can justify that ā zip-lock bags do a perfectly good job.
I backed Hispania but really only the game. No extras. Tetrarchia is lovely and was very hard to find here. So crowdfunding is the easiest way to obtain this. The boxes are so small I feel lik I can fit this on my shelves easily.
This marks the 2nd Crowdfunder I backed this week after backing Bebop which is one of the games in the Jazz āTrilogyā thing that Bitewing games has up over on Kickstarter. Bitewing games just donāt show up at retail here (Trailblazers is listed but unavailable at a few shops) except for mere moments after fulfillment and I really really like the look of Bebop. So Crowdfunding it is. No extras and neither of the other 2 games.
These are the first 2 campaigns I backed since Through the Desert so my backlog is definitely shrinking (especially since Firefly arrived today, pics later)
