Not enough suns now
Yes, it appears Iām describing a game thatās only one-tenth as good as what you were talking about.
I remember reading a self-help guy talking once about a seminar he was running where he said āHow much money do you think you would have in twenty years if you put aside $5K every year?ā
Most people say something like āOne hundred thousandā or āOne hundred and fifty thousand,ā but this one young man thinks for a moment and says āFive million.ā
It was actually closer to $400K, but suddenly nobody wanted to listen to him any more.
He never asks the audience for numbers any moreā¦
(EDIT: I have now ordered a Billion Suns at work. Curse you all)

More Bullet for your Bullet
Damnit, I just got everything in the box!
I look forward to getting these in about 2 years time ā¦
Iām not in any hurry. I have and some deluxe bullets.
is on my wishlist (and may actually be in stock at stores during Christmas shopping season this year for a change).
I plan on picking up the small box expansions from online retailers or as gifts.
I sort of want the fat bullets and maybe the expansion with the dice
oh how I wish this had managed to stick here.
But even ignoring the real-time component, my partner just couldnāt make sense of it and I somehow couldnāt bring the solo to life either.
Despite that I am sorely tempted. Tamashii tries for that pattern-itch but⦠doesnāt do enough of it.
I donāt think we ever played it real time and I was still slow.
Food Chain Magnate extra-pretty edition coming soon. BGG contest too.
I wonder if this would be easier to get to the table, fooling people into believing it is just your average crowdfunding game with minis?
Unfortunately, aside from the improved map tiles, I think it is less pretty than the original, and the plastic definitely makes the board less readable. For example, house and advert numbers are important - where are they?
Eh, take an existing copy and drop some spare zombie minis around as you set it up.
Oddly unexpectedly thematic
I find this to be universally less pleasing than the original, even the map tiles. I always felt the knocking of the art didnāt fit my opinion of the aesthetics. I like the minimalism and it felt more actual old americana than a modern reimagining of the style.
Overall Iām quite relieved as I can just ignore it
That bridge art is nice tho. I might sharpie my tiles to bolden the bridges in my copy
My problem with Food Chain Magnate look-wise was mainly the sparse and almost purely functional look of the board and this version does not look like it changes that meaningfully. the rest seems comparable or worse
Very much this.
Yeah, ā¬299 before shipping and tax.
ā¬400 for a game thatās Ā£150 on the secondary market and pretty decent design anyway.
Yikes! I think Iāll stick with my āuglyā edition
