My intention this game is to experiment with the Borg: I’ll set up without them, but whenever a player first controls six resource nodes (of any type), I’ll shuffle the Borg exploration cards and system discs into the decks. (If this seems like a truly terrible idea, now’s a good time to object.)

As last time, I’ll go down the order asking for faction picks, then back up again asking for homeworld locations in the starting pentagon. (Assussanni gets no effective choice because they will have no neighbours at that point, and when we get back to Delwayne there will only be one spot left.)
