Star Trek Ascendancy game 3

The shattered hulls of Vulcan ships shall remain in orbit of Kronos as decorations. We shall mount the head of the commanding officers of each ship on pikes outside the Imperial Palace as a reminder to all people that some favours come at too high a price.

Klingons gain 1 Culture, and 2 Honour.

  • Command 7/7: Fleet at Terra Nova enters Warp.

Done! Congrats to whichever of you earns the victory this turn!

@Assussanni asked for a die roll:

Tal Shiar Monitoring Posts generates 1 research for a Romulan project on a 3- d6: 2

Add 1 research from the supply to Cloaked Orbital Mines.

Card 5: Borg (NPC) no actions
Card 7: Romulan (@Assussanni)

@Assussanni asked for a die roll:
Hmmm. Since the Federation did everything they could to stop the Ferengi from winning I feel like I should do everything I can to stop the Cardassians from winning. I’m not sure if that makes sense but I can’t see how I can win this turn nor can I see any way to deny both the Ferengi and the Cardassians to prolong the game.

Romulan Build Phase

Purchase fourth Ascendancy (-5c).
Commit 1 research to each of Collective Data Linkage and Cloaked Orbital Mines (-2r, +1c).
Disband Battle Group #2 at Romulus.
Build 7 ships at Indri VIII, add 2 to generic fleet #3 and form the other 5 into new Battle Group #2.

End build phase with 0p, 3r, 2c remaining.

Romulan Command Phase

Command 1: battle group #2 moves at impulse to make a new space lane. Space lane length: d3+1: 4

From post #818, a space lane of length 4 is able to connect Indri VIII to the Singularity Cluster.

Commands 2&3: generic fleet #3 warps to just outside of Risa.
Command 4: generic fleet #3 attacks the 3 Cardassian ships at Risa. Romulans have 9 ships with First Strike hitting on 4+ (3+ vs shields 1), Cardassians have 3 ships and a starbase hitting on 3+ if any survive.

I think the Ferengi ship might get some say in all this because of the Trade Agreements held, so I’ll wait for @RogerBW to confirm.

First @Assussanni decides whether to include the Ferengi ship in the targets of the attack.
Then, if not, @RossM decides whether to join the defence anyway.

Understood. I’m not including the Ferengi ship as a target of the attack.

I won’t be joining the attack

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
OK, round 1, Romulan First Strike hits on 4+: pool 9d6: 5× 1, 2, 3, 5, 6

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Two hits. Cardassians have one ship plus starbase hitting on 3+: pool 2d6: 4, 5

Two hits: Romulans have 7 ships remaining, Cardassians 1 + starbase.
@Assussanni do Romulans wish to retreat?
If not, @MIGHTYSploosh does the lone Cardassian ship wish to retreat?

Wow, five 1s. I should have had @Marx roll the dice for me!

The Romulans do not retreat (assume that I won’t retreat from any battles that may occur this turn unless I specify otherwise).

No retreat

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Round two, simultaneous attacks.
Romulans hit on 4+: pool 7d6: 2× 1, 3× 2, 4, 5
Cardassians hit on 3+: pool 2d6: 2× 5

Two more Romulan ships lost, defenders are wiped out. Tactical move and next command please.

Tactical move into Risa.

Command 5: planetary invasion of Risa by generic fleet #3 (no First Strike because it is an invasion, not a space battle).

@RossM are you denying permission to do this?

Calculation: 5 ships with weapons 3+ shields 0 vs 3 structures (control node, culture node, starbase) with weapons 3+ shields 1.

I am the honest pacifist of this game. I will not stop this.
