Six Degrees (of whoever we want)!

David Bowie was the Goblin King in Labyrinth, kidnapping Jennifer Connelly’s sibling (I can’t remember the gender, was a baby sister, wasn’t it?)
Jennifer Connelly starred next to Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind (and won the Oscar, if I am not wrong?)
Russel Crowe was with Nicole Kidman in the cast of Boy Erased (I admit I had to look this one up, I could not remember the title),
Nicole Kidman was with Sam Elliott in The Golden Compass,
And Sam Elliott played Lady Gaga’s brother in law in the latest A Star is Born movie.

Running out of ideas… ehm, David Schwimmer to Jennifer Aniston without using Friends?

David Schwimmer was in Madagascar with Sacha Baron Cohen
who was in Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp
who was in Murder on the Orient Express with Judi Dench
who was in The Chronicles of Riddick with Vin Diesel
who was in The Iron Giant with Jennifer Aniston

Now try Ben Affleck to Matt Damon without using any film they’ve been in together.

… or maybe only films they’ve been in together?

Was he credited? I know he played one of the Troopers…

He was not, but it was reported in multiple outlets that he was the Stormtrooper Rey mind tricks.

I know there are plenty of cameos in the Troopers, like Kevin Smith and him. Actual voices, that is. And I believe two royal princes did wear the suits, but nobody officially confrms that…

And the moral of the story is, keep it inside the database.

Ben Affleck to Matt Damon using movies they weren’t together in

Ben Affleck did Gone Girl with Rosamund Pike,
Pike played a heroine in Wrath of the Titans with Sam Worthington,
Who was in Man on a Ledge with Elizabeth Banks,
Elizabeth Banks was in Catch Me if You Can with Leonardo DiCaprio,
And DiCaprio was in The Departed with Matt Damon

Using movies they were in together I will have to use Google, maybe another day

Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger, anybody…?

You are close, but you have a total of seven actors in those solutions, and there should only be six per the rules, which includes the two to be connected. Still impressive.

Ah, I thought it was six steps! Thanks.

To be fair, I think that’s how the game is supposed to be played. But it seems a shame to change the rules from the old forum at this point.

Jack Nicholson was in The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman
Freeman was in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Alan Rickman
Rickman was in Blow Dry with Bill Nighy
Nighy was in I, Frankenstein with Aaron Eckhart
Eckhart was in The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger

Wow, that took way too much time. So let’s run with that.

Connect the first two time travellers that I remember seeing: Michael J. Fox to Michael Biehn

I’d been stuck on it for ages as my brain had decided to dispose of any knowledge of Jack Nicholson films other than the obvious Batman connection.

I had the same problem! Mostly Batman, but also thought of the Shining, The Bucket List, As Good as it Gets, Chinatown, and The Two Jakes. I have not seen the latter two, and nothing was jumping out except for Morgan Freeman in The Bucket List. Now I remember the Witches of Eastwick would be an option as well.

I had a different way through Michael Caine, but loved that chain. Freeman and Rickman are two of my favourite actors.

Here’s a different pair of Jokers:

ETA: bah, that was 6 again. 5 brings in lots of Westerns…

It’s his real name, because he is Toby Froud, son of the artist who designed the Goblins, and Toby is now (at 37) a puppeteer, artist and sculptor most famously on the Netflix Dark Crystal series!

(Any book of Brian and Wendy’s art is ace)

A connection nobody asked for for the sequel nobody asked for…

Since the poorly described plots thread is seeing new life, reposting my last connection challenge to try to kickstart this one:

How many times can we use Bill Paxton? And man, do I really miss Bill Paxton.

[EDIT]

So here we go:

Michael J. Fox was in Back to the Future with
Crispin Glover, who was in Wild at Heart with
Isabella Rossellini, who was in Death Becomes Her with
Bruce Willis, who was in The Replacements [well that’s fun. I meant The Expandables (2)] with
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was in The Terminator with…

Godlike action man Michael Biehn.
