Lowlands is that one Uwe game I want. And it’s not even Uwe!

Our Uwe Overlap is small. Just Hallertau and Arler Erde. I am considering the new edition of Glassroad…

I wish it were but no the measurements are slightly off. 2 or 3 mm higher and 2-3 cm less on the sides. I used Sidereal for a quick reference and that is the standard square box size… sorry to say but there is way less game and stuff inside the Calico box. Lovely game but bad box

I’ve got the new Sidereal too. Lemme see…

…oh you have Space Base too, this is convenient. My copy of Calico is just about exactly that size (ever so slightly bigger). Next to Sidereal, it’s 2-3mm shorter and easily 3cm smaller on the width end.

Seems the difference is pretty minor, but it’s there. My copy is AEG published, FWIW.

[EDIT] Here’s what my box looks like packed away (this was before I introduced a couple of little boxes for the cat tokens). Just about to the top with the rules in place. I did keep in the packing insert; I like that they keep the boards from jostling.

Good news: recently reprinted.Although it was a bit pricey compare to its first printing.

I’m still confused on which one to keep, to be honest. Rosenberg remains that Euro designer that I like that defies my criteria on what I want from a Euro. So if you ask me, which Uwe do I want to keep? I’ll say: I don’t know. I don’t have a metric.

Here’s a pic for size comparisons. Find the misfit:

(Sub Terra is not a square box. Lengthwise it might match Calico)

Jeez, yeah the difference is bigger than my eyes had guessed. Picture that game in Space Base’s box and you can probably see why we have such differing opinions on the size! I wonder why they did that, it seems the Ravensburger edition is still in partnership with AEG.

My guess is that this is some kind of standard size for Ravensburger square boxes. I don’t usually buy the Ravensburger imprint, when I buy their games it is mostly Alea. Ravensburger usually makes more kid-oriented stuff and those used to be in quite flat boxes. I have no idea. Also I noticed you have a nice patterned cloth bag for the tiles. Mine is an awful material that is quite stiff and makes it hard to mix the tiles inside.

I’m quite surprised there’s a material difference internally. It was my understanding the components, etc. were identical as per the Kickstarter version. Maybe it’s a second run? I have to admit the bag is a really pleasing component and has been working in nicely (a bit stiff to begin with). Hopefully you still get the thick tiles, dual layer boards, etc?

Yeah, the rest seems to be identical. The boards are the most important component imo and those are perfect

And I still think to myself, “Dang, need to get me a copy of Hallertau”

I want these to be in one, long, vertical column, like they appear in your screenshots. So get Troyes and whatever else is there out of the way and move your remaining Rosenberg’s there. Uwe’ll love it!

Except the other shelf (the first picture) is the “not quite Uwe” games. Either Uwe games by Uwe but without animeeples or cubes… or Lowlands, which, famously, SUSD called the second best Uwe Rosenberg game, but designed by Claudia and Ralf Partenheimer.

Yeah, I have Lowlands and know it wasn’t designed by Uwe (though it sounds like he had some input, and it’s got his seal of approval). Still, I love the idea of this giant stack of Rosenberg games.

EDIT: For that matter, @pillbox, I think you still owe us a picture of your collection. You told us it was coming back in September!

I do! This is why I hate making commitments… they haunt me O_O

So what you’re looking at above is a glimpse at the half of the shelves that are orderly and somewhat organized.

So, it’s an on-going effort still.

But here's a progress update (without any last minute tidying, because my kids are down there and for the first time (ever?) are playing on their own without me or my partner present)

Looks like a jumbled mess to me… but, there’s no accounting for the eye of the beholder
