Agree. Although everyone on the table had doubts on the feasability of it as a 2 player. For the record, we havent tried.
I really liked Noria the couple of times I played it. I’ve played at 2 and a 3 players and I think it was better at 3 and would like to try it at 4 but it was ok at 2. Again, only played it two times, though. The biggest problem with it for me was I really enjoyed it but it didn’t click on a first play for my husband so he got grumpy about it and hasn’t wanted to play it again. Since he’s my #1 gaming partner (even more so since pandemic), that’s complicated getting in more plays.
The situation in that first picture looked incredibly precarious – until I realised it was not actually a vertical stack of shelves like the others : )
Is there a GMT game you do not own? Or a space exploration game you don’t have? I see trends here
I love looking at photos of people’s collections I wish my own wasn’t stacking everywhere in the living room due to lack of space.
I LOVE consims and space exploration! Also, my “overflow closet” is a disaster.
Finally organised my games into something I feel I can show on here (the trusty Kallax).
So much neater than my old solution where I had games in 2 different cupboards and under the bed.
Note the bottom shelves are for kids games. Not casting shade on hungry hungry hippos.
I’ve just come across this picture of my entire board game collection from 2016:
I still have everything except Catan and Polarity.
I don’t entirely understand how the games get into or out of that contraption : )
In case of emergency smash side table.
The table is wider on the other side, so the games got in and out that way
Through the bedframe?
You had to offload the lamp and then lift out the entire side table to get a game out?!
It’s like a hedgehog puzzle for game storage!
No furniture removal required, but I did have to remove the whole stack if I wanted to get to Tzolk’in…
That’s an interesting way of condemning games you don’t play often. To the oubliette!
I can think of a few games that I would throw into an oubliette…
It happened… I have a new shelf for that annoying rectangle size. Also reorganised my boxes to bring together similar sizes.
I keep glaring at Yokohama Duel, willing it to fit into the Yokohama box.
Iwari is going to have to move when Kanban arrives
I am liking your post, but my eye keeps twitching at that vertical alignment.
Are you a destroyer of boxes? We both know that Deluxified Yoko is a cavern, I’m sure you can merge the two games. In particular I believe there’s a lot of (wooden) component overlap between the two?
I think that would be the way. The component count is slightly different distribution between the two. I could pool to the most either needs… but I would need to throw out some components and that feels very permanent! Maybe in the long term I will. Just want to be 100% that they’re keepers before half destroying a game!
The biggest issue is Duel deluxe’s standard board - it adds a lot of depth. If I had the standard version the tiles would fit fine. But it’s nice to have the components significantly different so they don’t get confused.
And yeah, the book shelf is slightly wonky. I’m in a hundred year old house with original floorboards, the corners dip slightly! I’m very tempted to swap round the Billie and Kallax, since the Kallax weight is distributed away from the sides, but that’s an afternoon of effort to offload, shift & reload. Maybe in the summer.
