The Terror pulls itself back to its feet and hisses at the retreating figure of Meinrad (loses the prone condition). It seems to weigh up the potential difficulty of getting at Else in the shack versus the three of you gathering outside.

The beady eyes of the creature fix on the group of three - you can guess that it will come for you now it is upright again. Blood droplets patter down from teh injuries you’ve inflicted, but again the flow is already startign to ease.

At the end of Round 2, the Bleeding x2 causes a loss of 2 wounds; the Terror has taken 17 wounds).

(At the start of Round 3 it regenerates d10: 4 wounds.)

Nope, you’d be about 8 yards short (basically the distance to exit the house and reach the front).

In that case, I’ll spend the round reloading then. I think I need to roll against my pistol skill?

Yes I’ll move closer to the beast while it’s attention is focussed on the others. I’m guessing that’s walking speed. Don’t imagine I can run after loading really.

I had a long read, and there doesn’t seem to be any restriction. At the worse, it would have been a modifier to your reload test, but you auto-passed with a 3. So I don’t see why Else can’t run if she wants. 8 yards will get her to the front of the shack and right in the eyeline of the Terror, or she can fall back to join the others.

Okay, that will also put you within it’s charge range, and as I wrote above, right in the Terror’s eyeline.

I’m aware. Else knows she is the only real combatant in the group. And if she can hold the Terror, the others have a better chance of targetting it

Amris will continue falling back towards town, yelling for help. He won’t care about elven decorum at this stage, he’ll just shout as loud as possible.
ā€œElse! We cannot take this thing! We need help!ā€ to the townsfolk: ā€œGrab your torches or this thing will be grabbing your children!ā€

(I’m not going to let you roll again to persuade the townspeople to leave their homes at the moment. The ones around you have seen what’s coming, and made a choice to batten down the hatches. Amris will run 10 yards, putting him 34 yards away from the Terror. If he wants to really leg it, he can make an Athletics test to sprint, which will give him another 10 yards movement).

Fronika stands her ground for now, not ready to run unless Else does. Can her dagger work as a thrown weapon?

(By the strict game rules no, but I’ll allow it at a penalty. The range from a thrown dagger would be Fronika’s Strength Bonus x 2 yards, so 4 yards. You would test your Ballistic Skill to hit. You can get throwing knives, which are of course appropriately balanced for this type of thing. A plain dagger is not, so it would have the Inaccurate quality, which gives a -10 to hit when thrown.

4 yards isn’t the maximum distnace you can attempt a ranged attack. You can try to hit something up to 3x a weapon’s range, but there are associated to hit modifiers:
-Extreme range is up to 3x range, -30 modifier
-Long range is up to 2x range, -10 modifier
-Short range is less than 1/2x range, +20 modifier)
