I’m all for some scouting, but I won’t stand for anyone being forced to. If they want to help, voluntarily, with the backing of their family groups, then I think we should help them all we can. If we start press-ganging anyone though, we’re no better than the Jackals.
We should protect the children, not have them protect us. The children should instead be trained in science and philosophy, as the future of our culture.
I doubt that we could stop them running off and sneaking around even if we wanted to, especially now that girl’s got some of them excited about “the voices from the Drop”. We might as well get something useful out of their antics.
Learning is important, but survival is paramount. I say we take advantage of their natural abilities and curiosity.

What group has the highest status in the community? What must people do to gain inclusion in this group?
or…
Are there distinct family units in the community? If so, what family structures are common?
Family units are demoted not by relation, but by location.
Baggage, Customs, Freight being the largest three.
For my action I want to start a project. If we are educating our children we need to know what resources we have.
Catalogue the cassette tapes.

Where are you storing your food? Why is this a risky place to store things?
We’re storing our food in one of the old hangers. It’s risky because we have very little control over the temperature or conditions inside, and the smells are starting to attract scavenging animals. Combined with out lack of fresh fruit, I fear for the health of our little community.
I choose to hold a discussion. The lack of fresh fruit and vegetables is very troubling. We have a nearby source of water in the marsh. It may not be clean, it may not be 100% safe, but I believe those of us with some agricultural knowledge should see what foods might be harvested there, and in fact, grown, like small scale farming. I know the risks involved with that place, but I think it’s vital we start to farm there.
Any food grown from those waters would be fit only for gargoyles, and certainly prove fatal to all of us.
The lack of fresh food is certainly a problem. Perhaps we can find some willing volunteers to test whatever we find in the marsh…
You know the stories about that place! There’s things there unnatural. Any food grown there will surely be too dangerous for consumption. Maybe if you can filter the water out, but even then, I don’t know if the benefits outweigh the risks and work.
We want good alluvium for farming. Lets drain that swamp!
Apologies for the delay everybody!

Alarming weather patterns destroy something. How and what ?
Sorry 'bout the wait, here we go!
Alarming weather patterns destroy something. How and what ?
After a week of continuous overcast drizzle, a terrifying wind storm arises, from which develops a tornado of pure lightning. It descends directly on the metal reflectors, blasting a crater into the earth, and causing the edge of the canyon to crumble into the void.
Also, whatever is going on at the control tower is just finished. Coincidence? I think not!
For my action, I will start a discussion; Is someone controlling this destructive force, and if so, what can be done?
Hanging from the control tower is an enormous collection of cones pointing in every direction. Nobody except the girl, who says her name is Alex, quite understands how it works. However, if you climb down into the centre of the assemblage, you can hear distant sounds as if they were just centimetres away. This has already been the cause of some fights among community members when someone heard something that was not intended for their ears.
My addition to the discussion:
We have no evidence that the storm was anything other than a natural phenomenon. But maybe we should replace the reflectors with something less conspicuous, just in case…
I agree. The reflectors need to go so we don’t create a beacon for anyone who would harm us. As for the storm, I’m not sure that was natural…
Terrible weather stops the plane returning.
That’s a good thing.
I think the reflectors should stay. If the worst they do is redirect lightning intended for us, that’s good. Plus we can hear our enemies before we can see them now, forewarned is forearmed.
