What happens if both our ships are in the same hex?
Forget the Commissoners: I think the dice are showing signs of being under Klingon influence so far.
If both want to explore the same hex, an auction takes place, where players secretly bid up to 5 reputation points to get to the planet. The loser of the bid loses their exploration for that turn, and both players lose the reputation they bid (potentially going negative). If only one, or neither of them are exploring though, everything goes as normal. (Although Agents can potentially sneak onto ships in the same location.)
Can we not just settle it old school with a space battle?
Sounding a bit Klingon yourself there But no, “the incredibly powerful Organians won’t allow it!”
Alright then - can we make an alliance and learn the Organians then?
Just a thought …
“What is this Earth thing you call… gin?”
Swift victory to 7
Hawk sloop to 18
Death rattle 23
Repentance 19
@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
Swift Victory (4): 2d6: 4 + 6 = 10
Hock Soups (1): Impulse power
Death Rattle (5): 2d6: 3 + 1 = 4
Repentance (3): 2d6: 2 + 1 = 3
That’s not right. Hock soups can’t get there on impulse
@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
Whoops, swapped the locations for the Soups and the Rattle
2d6: 6 + 6 = 12
A fine roll, albeit rather unnecessary for moving 4. At least now the Death Rattle has just enough power to not burn out!
It is now the Federation’s Explore phase: are we going ahead and sending DiLucca on an adventure, @gmwhite999 ?
Yes - Di Lucca can explore.
Make it so!
Very well!
The planet they arrive at is Halka. Commissioner DiLucca has been negotiating with the people of Halka over (apparently much-needed!) dilithium resources; the Halkans, however, have refused to allow us the crystals, believing they will be used for war. He has beamed down to the planet with his security officers, but negotiations have been suspended because of an approaching ion storm makes it advisable that they return to the ship.
As they prepared to withdraw, however, the storm hit earlier than expected, rendering their transport unfeasable. They take refuge with the Akaar tribe, where several unexpected event transpire.
The tribal leader, the Te’er Akaar, was taken from power in a bloodless coup d-etat by a man called Maab. Bloodless, that is, until the pregnant mother-to-be of the Akaar heir was sentenced to execution. This was against the laws of both Malka and the Federation; Lieutenant Burton of the security team intervened, and rescued her, but he has now been arrested, and faces the tribunal.
To be decided by @RossM , DiLucca may:
- Take the woman and escape
- Prepare to argue your case at the Tribunal,
or - Accept the sentence in the interests of diplomacy.
(Calculating how long it will take me to send Di Lucca into Klingon space with the self destruct codes).
Ok, is this about accepting the tribunal result against the officer or accepting the execution of this woman?
The word sentence is ambiguous.
Ah, specifically the sentence against Lieutenant Burton, but probably doesn’t bode well for the woman either.
Ok. Looking at what Kirk would do, the Commissioner Takes the woman and escapes.
A heroic move!
They easily escaped into the wilderness, (leaving Burton behind), but the Halkans know the terrain far better than any of you do; even the woman’s knowledge is vague at best. It doesn’t take long at all for the trackers to hunt them down, and while the two remaining security men put up a good fight, it was ultimately futile, as Maab’s men killed the woman on the spot, and brought the rest of them to their leader.
Maab saw that his control of the tribe would fail if he engaged in further violence, but Burton had already been executed in DiLucca’s absence. He releases you, and as the storm dissipates, the three survivors are beamed back to the ship.

It is now time for a Klingon Adventure.
Star Number 7 please.
