You approach the planet for a routine investiagation. Scanners indicate the planet is well-suited to Klingon life. (Gravity 1.02, Pressure 1.01, Oxygen-Nitrogen atmostphere) To your surprise (and disgust), however, there is a human culture living here; there are no records that this planet has ever been visited, but the culture seems substantially similar to one recorded on ancient Earth. Assemble a Landing Party (up to 6 from Kor, Koloth, Varozh, Zhukov, and 6 security officers)
All of them and 2 security officers.
The people here speak 21st century English, with some variations (Varozh suggested they may be what are called Australians). The people here is a Theocracy, ruled by an all-female priesthood. They worship the Earth Mother, a religion practically unknown on Earth for thousands of years, but certainly silly enough for such weak indolent beings. They are currently preparing for the spring festival, where they will celebrate fruitfulness of life on the planet.
You may:
- Visit a settlement as traders, and hope to learn more from its people,
- Go to the Spring Festival
- Plant a spy at the Matriarch’s court
@RossM have you still not finished adventuring yet? I’m champing at the bit to roll terribly again!
I’ve been debating this and my heart says go to the Festival.
So let’s go the festival.
I hear they may have a giant wicker man!
“Jesus Christ,no!”
It was… a bad time. There was a giant wicker woman, but that was basically it. All the men just got left behind to talk about tractors, and the women went off to do mysterious things without you. A textbook example of the sort of society women create without a proper understanding of the joys of cleansing battle!

Next is political phase, where DiLucca can try to do something useful, and may attempt to increase Federation influence over Halka. So @gmwhite999 can optionally do that.
Also the previous offer for Agent Kllrjnov still stands
Can my other agent sneak onto the enterprise?
Bless: I can’t see that going well for him.
Yes Di Lucca will try to heal wounds, forge friendships, find common ground, blah, blah, blah …
Yes! Agent… Smith is now aboard the Enterprise. Of course the Federation has no idea this secret action has happened
@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
There is no way this could possibly go wrong!
1-3: Halka becomes Federation Inclined
4-5: No result
6: Halka becomes Klingon inclined
d6: 5
Well, he almost made everyone hate him even more, but managed to pull back in time to save face. Maybe next time…
Does that complete Turn 2 - or have the Borg rocked up in Vulcan yet?
I will be incredibly surprised if the Borg rock up in a game from 1985.
Best time to do it. Nobody expects the Borg assimilation! Their chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear! Their two chief weapons are …
Yeah. And what have the Vulcans ever done for us?
Yeah, No Borgs yet, it is now Turn 3
Klingon Reputation: 0
Federation Reputation: 1
Political Track: 1 (Federation)
The Federation maintain initiative, so will move ships.
USS Beijing and USS SUrak move to (or nearly to) Star Base 11.
USS Ares moves to System 16.
USS Enterprise - hmmm! I assume there is no way to get rid of a Klingon agent other than a lucky roll of a die on an Exploration or Politcal event. ANd I can go up to 14 spaces yes? Hmmm! Can I invade Klingon space?
