@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
Let’s see if this works:
2d6: 2 + 5 = 7
@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
Okay, rolls for the ships:
Beijing (4): 2d6: 1 + 2 = 3
Surak (4): 2d6: 2 + 1 = 3
Ares (3): [roll2d6]
(Forgot the space in the last roll.)
@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
Bugger, I’m clumsy.
2d6: 6 + 5 = 11
for Ares again
“Captain, it appears the synthetic dilithiums we ordered from the Wuhan colony were not entirely safe. We will have to get by on impulse power till they can be replaced!”
All ships make it to their destinations, but unfortunately both the Beijing and the Surak now have their dilithiums exhausted, giving them a max speed of 2. They can use a future turn to have the crystals replaced at either a Star Base, Organia, or an “AA” planet.
Meanwhile, where would @RossM like to move the Empire’s fleet?
Swift Victory to Starbase R
Death rattle to Starbase S
Hawk Stoop to 12
Repentance to 17
@GabrielH asked for a die roll:
Whoop! Going big and/or going home:
Swift Victory (7): 2d6: 5 + 5 = 10
Hawk Stoops (3): 2d6: 5 + 1 = 6
Death Rattle (6): 2d6: 5 + 1 = 6
Repentance (3): 2d6: 5 + 4 = 9
And the Klingons, being able to (forcibly) source their dilithiums from only the purest mines, without relying on such insecure methods as trade and diplomacy, have arrived without incident.
The Federation may now perform an exploration action with one of their ships for an Adventure™ !
Spiffing start!
One adventure, eh? Well, would be rude not to start with the USS Enterprise.
Classic…
Alrighty! (it should be noted that I’m adding some flavor text to make things a bit more specific)
“Captains log, Stardate 13-21.1. We are approaching point 892-IV. The Starship Blaze, a vessel in the Merchant Marine, passed through here some time ago under the command of the promising young Captain Chekov, cousin of our own Navigator Chekov, and friend of myself and many of the crew. Starfleet has ordered us to investigate it’s disappearance here.”
A scan of probable orbits shows debris and wreckage. Apparently the Blaze was struck by a meteor with shields down. A recovered log buoy indicates no survivors.
However, disturbances are evident in the “Roman” culture on this planet. Intact wreckage has been discovered by the locals, and is being worshiped as a manifestation from the gods. In keeping with the Prime Directive, we shall attempt to recover it.
You may:
- Beam up the artifacts directly, despite the poor locational fix,
- Beam down a party posing as Traders to try to ‘buy’ the artifacts,
or - Beam down a party to sneak into the temple and steal the artifacts
Kirk organises an away team to beam down a party posing as Traders to try to ‘buy’ the artifacts
Very well, you may choose up to 6 people for the landing party, from Kirk, Scott, Chekov, Uhura, and the 6 Security Officers.
Kirk - obviously - Scott, Uhura and two Security Officers.
Energise!
Our band of “Nubian Traders” was at first well-recieved; the natives seemed to have much interest in our catalog of tribbles. However, when we suggested trading for the relics, the priests became hostile, and even threatened violence!
Kirk managed to obtain a private conference with the High Priestess however, and well… things were arranged peacefully after that. Scott suggests that the security men keep to themselves about any sounds they may have overheard from the “discussion”.
Kirk has acquired the artifacts, and made a new friend with the Priestess! She will be looking forward to any visits in the future…
Reputation +1, Political +2, Federation Inclined
(not everything gets solved this easily )
It is now @RossM 's turn for a Klingon Adventure™
Ooh. The repentance please
Didn’t most Star Trek original series episodes get solved by Kirk fighting or bonking someone?
Anyhoo, a job well done.
Commander Valara has been ordered to Melkot to contact its inhabitants. The orders read “at all costs”, although no further explanations have been given.
As we approached the planet, we received a message from an orbital buoy: “Aliens, you have encroached on the space of the Melkot. You will turn back immediately. This is the only warning you will receive.”
For the glory of the Empire, however, we must press on, and send down a landing party in an attempt to contact the Melkot and bring them to an understanding of our intentions. Assemble a landing party, in this case Valara herself, and up to 3 security officers.
If it was a man, yeah. Women needed a… different kind of bonking What can I say, it was 1966. Classic “they never knew of emotion before…”
