Haha My colleague has a birthday one day off my mum’s, and her daughter shares my birthday. Both different years, but I call her my work mum regardless!

Oh dear. Not so cool
There’s a couple of interesting historical folks around mine but the biggest milestone for me has always been that Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 launched on either side of my birthday. I always like to go check how the weather is for them out around the heliopause around birthday time.

Regarding sharing birthdays with celebrities, besides my favourite Kirk Douglas, I like Dalton Trumbo, Dolores Ibarruri (activist during the 30s), Douglas Fairbanks, Dame Judi Dench, John Malkovich (my second favourite, and favourite alive), Felicity Huffman, Jakob Dylan (Bob’s son), and Imogen Heap (born the same day). After that, nobody listed in Wikipedia I know, besides Gaston Gaudio, an Argentinian tennis player.
Also, concerning birthday serendipity, I share my birhday with my great grandmother, but she died when I was 2, so I hardly remember her.
Closest celebrity, Andy “Freddie” Flintoff was born 3 days before me, and just over a week later than me, 8 days later, none other than Queen Lagertha, Katheryn Winnick. That was fun to research.

At a work-related supper, I was able to explain to a retired High Court judge that S Club 7, for whom I’d briefly been webmaster in the early 00s, were “a popular beat combo”. And he got the reference.

It’s been a while, so I cannot say when exactly his character arc starts to take off but whenever that was. It may have been in the first book. I am aware he’s an incestuous asshole. But he’s got one of the best arcs in the series always teasing redemption and never getting there. (I never finished watching the TV show after it overtook the books so…)
My favorite character from the MCU is Loki. Thor is boring in comparison.
I loved the Cotillion plot/character arc right from the first in Malazan.
This may be a fragment an earlier era. I just read an interesting interview with Ethan Hawke where he mentions how his Reality Bites character is a never-do-well and an ass and that back then people might have thought that was cool but these days everyone would instantly see through that and dismiss him.
Still, I enjoy reading characters who continuously seem to make the wrong choices… it’s all that much better when they do something good for once. Favorite also doesn’t mean I would like them as a person, I just think reading about them is more exciting.
Both Jamie and Cersei Lannister are characters that I now enjoy, and they have amazing arcs, but on the first book, they were still pretty much “villains”. If there are arcs I love in those books, Theon Greyjoy and Sandor Clegane are my favourites.
Malazan… shame on me, I know, I started the first book, and… gave up on it. 
I’m excited too… but probably for very wrong reasons… hmmmm, Rachel Stevens…

The first book and many after are quite confusing. It’s one of the harder first books in a series and there are a few really really weird books in the series and even now there are plot arcs in there I never quite understood and also many many POVs and not all are equally good. But Cotillion’s story is absolutely worth reading… it’s one of those series where I had a serious book hangover when I was done. I lived in those books for a while.

Tehol and Bugg are the Londo and G’Kar of Malazan for me. There were times their dialogue stretches were the only thing that got me through.
