Leaving Earth (Base Game and Mercury) Pbf

@pillbox. I have many useless Juno’s in orbit. If you provided me With landing tech I would happily drop two of them back to earth and provide you with a 100% successful tech…

Let’s make it happen!

Excellent.

I pass my turn, @RogerBW do you have $5 left?

I believe I have ¤9 - 4 left from my orders at post 186 Leaving Earth (Base Game and Mercury) Pbf - #186 by RogerBW +5 from yashima.

If that’s correct: I’m planning on three Life Support draws so the 5 are useful. With the 4 I’ll buy an Aldrin.

Right then. Roll your d100s to end your turn, I will draw the life support cards after.

@RossM asked for a die roll:
d100: 1 but French

(Lovely. Life support testing tonight, followed by start of your updates and TTS file for all.)

@RogerBW your first life support is a …

Success!

I’m assuming you want me to draw the other two cards and you pay off any failures?

That’s correct.

Reshuffling…

The second is a… success!

Reshuffling

The third is a … success.

(No failures revealed. I think it’s definitely safe to send an astronaut up next turn. :grimacing:)

@RossM I want to copy your turn :stuck_out_tongue:
Also the save file is just a json info thingy not the actual game state, I think.

Anyway, I already have an Ion Thruster up there.
Can I survey from Lunar Fly-by?

ISAS :jp:

  • Use Rendezvous to split my satellite thing into two pieces:
    • 1 broken probe & 1 working probe will be named the Within satellite,
    • 1 working probe +1 Ion Thruster will be called Temptation
  • Temptation will fire the Ion Thruster to reach Lunar Fly-by
    • Buy off whatever the result is
    • If it is a minor or major failure, rendezvous at Within to leave probe in orbit and send the rest of Temptation to tumble to Earth for repairs (no attempt to land, as I need my $ elsewhere, if someone wants to help sponsor a Landing test, feel free to make me an offer before this is executed)
  • Buy another Ion Thruster and use two off my Atlas Rockets to assemble Spacecraft called Supernova (which is both an excellent Ardbeg whisky and a song by Within Temptation) and shoot the second thruster into LEO to pick up the remaining working probem from Within
  • Depending on the first Thruster result, I now have either $5 or $10 left
    • $5: edited after finding out I can survey more than I thought i could
      • survey Solar Radiation from Supernova, remove a failure, success should be auto-removed, right?
      • if still money left now offer $5 as a loan if nobody takes it buy an Atlas Rocket before the year is over and offer $1 as remaining loan.
    • $10: Supernova will try to get to the Inner Planets Transfer and I’ll buy off whatever result I get

And I think that should be it.

(Yep, Roger just let me know. I will amend.) You can survey from flyby or orbit. You can survey solar radiation from earth orbit. You can even test surveying on something already surveyed.

Ah thanks for the info that might indeed change my turn. I had not realized I was in position to survey solar radiation for testing.

I’ll just edit my post to reflect what I would like to change.

The Surveying advancement lets you look at a location the hazards of which are faced by leaving your location (i.e. there exists a manoeuvre that leads from here to there - but you don’t have to take that manoeuvre).
