Leaving Earth (Base Game and Mercury) Pbf

Go on. From what you have I’d be interested in Atlas or perhaps Surveying, or say a future ¤15 for 5 mass to LEO. (Delivered as one entity or as separate craft, your choice. That’s the personal service you get from the workers’ paradise.)

I’d be happy to exchange for Atlas or surveying.

OK, let’s say fully-tested Atlas tech for 5 mass to LEO.

Buy Life Support advancement ¤10, leaving ¤15.
Buy three Vostok capsules ¤6, leaving ¤9.
Buy an Atlas ¤5, leaving ¤4.
Launch three Vostok + Atlas + RossM’s payload to LEO on a double-Saturn
Separate RossM’s payload and transfer it back
End turn

Deal.4 Juno’s and a probe are ready for launch.

(sorry, edited in my rest-of-turn orders above. I’ll be RPGing this afternoon.)

@yashima is next

Hello everyone.
I am having a tough time holding the game in my head and so I’ve been using handwavium for my turns. Any tips? I can barely hold my own materials and techs in my head…

I would like to keep cooperating with @RogerBW but I seem to need to figure out what I need to be doing first and so for now I think I’ stick to the plan I made previously:

ISAS :jp:

  • buy Ion Thruster tech for $10
  • buy Ion Thruster for $10
  • if there is 1 payload to LEO left to buy, I’d be willing to pay for $5 for transport (that’s all I’ve left)
  • if not assemble Spacecraft “Nightwish I”: Stage 1 = 1 Atlas, Stage 2 = 1 Atlas, Payload: 1 Ion Thruster

That’s my turn for now.

I can forward you screenshots on any turn, or at any point.

I can also provide a full text summary, whatever is best.

Thanks for the offer. I was just wondering how the others are doing it? (You have the TTS save so that should help)

I mean this is my third game and my first Pbf. All my other internet gaming was TTS and once on Vassal where I have more visualization. Anyway, I was thinking of putting the state of the start of each year in my own TTS save or something along those lines. I am more of a visual person than I thought I guess

I’m more than happy to send you the current TTS save, although it’s on no peeking rule.

Obviously no peaking. I am pretty adept with the controls so I should be able not to turn over something accidentally.
So if the others are okay with that, I wouldn’t saving the time to reproduce the game state.

If there’s room for that to happen retroactively before my launch, I’m happy to do it.

I also have trouble keeping stuff straight but I have a file here with my notes in it and I update it when things happen. In fact I need to update that now…

(Here’s the thing. Your turn is technically over, but… in the real world @yashima would just say. “I’m interested as well.”)

What I’m saying is, this is fine, and for future reference I assume all firing of rockets without outcomes are launched after all people who want to have payload lifted to orbit have responded.

@pillbox is up.

Clarification: it is my understanding that I can test Landing with any valid spacecraft, including one that consists of a single Juno rocket or a single Supplies; there’s no need to have a lander or probe as a component on the craft? If that’s the case:

1960 NASA

1960, NASA :us:

Research Landing ($10)
Purchase Qty 2, Atlas ($10)

Assemble “Crash Lander” class probe:

Juno
Atlas
Atlas

Launch “Crash Lander” into Suborbital Space → Earth Orbit

NASA is preparing to test its new landing technology. Due to budgetary constraints, these tests will have to wait until 1961 unless inter-agency funding is provided in exchange for the tested technology.

(That is the case)

@pillbox, you can test landing from suborbital space.

Oh, you can!

Well, in that case, please disregard my previous directives and execute the following:

1960, NASA :us:

Research Landing ($10)
Purchase Qty 1, Atlas ($5)

Assemble “Crash Lander” class probe:

Juno
Atlas

Launch “Crash Lander” into Suborbital Space and proceed to test Landing by way of the optional Landing maneuver.

@pillbox! A success! The Juno delicately lands on Earth.

(just interjecting here i know it makes things unnecessarily difficult: but once my thruster is up in orbit i rendezvous with the existing spacecraft up there and that is the end of my turn. i had a bit of a stressful thing to deal with today and i just need a hot bath and an early night and may not necessarily look at the forum again until tomorrow morning)

I’ll pay the $10 to remove the Success.

That concludes my turn unless inter-agency cooperation is requested
