Oh looking forward to watching this when home from work tonight. I played and loved Survive as a child in the mid 1980s so it’s great to see it still going strong.
Me too!. God knows where is that game now, I used to love it. Last time I went to visit my parents in Spain in 2018 it was nowhere to be seen, so I guess it ended in the charity shop. Me and my brother actually made it into a X4 sort of war game changing the rules and adding chickpeas as soldiers. It was awesome to fill the boats with them and war against each other.
I still have a copy of Escape From Atlantis but sadly missing one of the green tiles Really pleased to own the new version with expansion though for 6 player mayhem.
I Kingdomino’ed, I think it’s just the right amount of spite in the draft whilst also being able to fudge the draft when playing with the kids
I purchased a preorder copy of Kanban EV From a BGG member after some sage advice from the forum on the perils of adding games onto Kickstarter pledges.
Just got the first proceeds of my Maths Trade; The Resistance. It’s the older edition in a very small grey box. It also comes with the plot cards from The Plot Thickens.
I’ve not played it before (and won’t for a while as we need another player in the household). Are the plot cards worth adding? Having watched a playthrough of the base game it looks pretty awesome already and I’m not sure the extra bits are going to add a huge amount to the game.
I certainly don’t use them every time, but if I were playing it every week or two I’d add them sometimes to get a bit of variation.
My girlfriend still has her copy of Escape from Atlantis from when she was kid. We play it every now and then, it’s still so good.
It isn’t necessarily the last game I bought, but my copy of Pax Pamir 2nd edition came in today. This thing is so much more beautiful than any of the pictures or videos I’ve seen. Just absolutely lovely.
I’m also going to cheat by adding that I got Akrotiri, Everdell: Spirecrest, and Isle of Skye in trades. I’ve wanted all 3 of those for a good while and feel really good about the trades.
Because Target was having a sale yesterday, we bought a few Christmas/birthday presents for one of our kids, and Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion for me. Probably won’t dig into it for a bit, but at the price and with $25 off of $100, it was worth it.
It’s been a busy summer for me - of work specifically (although considering I work largely in the tourism industry, it is normally busier and in different ways) but also of game buying. Here are the my purchases for the summer and autumn so far.
I have yet had the chance to play them all. Cyclades and Viticulture only arrived this week and V-Commandos has been sitting on the shelf waiting for a spare long afternoon one weekend to try out. Architects of the West Kingdom and Nusfjord are my most-played and favourites so far and most of those playthroughs have been mentioned in the Last Game Played thread here. A couple of expansions too, with the Architects… Age of Artisans, Nusfjord Plaice Deck and Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks Third, Eight and Thirteenth Doctor additions. As I most only get to play games alone the solo games and modes will be the most played, but there are aspirational hopes of getting to play El Dorado, Memoir 44 and Cyclades with others, particularly El Dorado which might get a trial with non-gaming friends over Christmas. Even if not though, these titles give me far more options for my 12 Gamedays of Christmas run.
Memoir 44 has a great online app that is free to play for a while
I did play the online version a few times earlier this year and loved that, so decided to buy the physical game.
It looks like Donald Trump stood next to Jodie Whitaker on the Dr Who box
Ah - bad glare on the box yes. I should have reversed the polarity of the neutron flow on my camera.
I saw that too! Thankfully, only from a distance. Zoom in and it is obviously not him.
So Obama regenerated into Trump because you can’t have a female President?
Politics is weird.
