Picked up Marvel Champions: Fear No Evil and the Star Wars Deckbuilding Game: Rebel and Empire Reinforcements expansions.
Then, in a fit of what must have been temporary insanity, I purchased the Dice Throne Adventures expansion, as I think I will have an easier time selling the game as a co-op over a head-to-head battler.
Bought Ankh-Morpork for £75 which is pretty good for an OOP game.
I have swung towards the silly now I have been playing Splotters and 18xx for years. And AM is perfect and prefer it over the London theme of Nanty Narking
After Picante/Sticheln/StickāEm quickly sold out at that same shop, when Trickarus appeared⦠I couldnāt help myself.
I also ordered Picante and Shards of Creation but those are ⦠well not available right now. But the shop is nice enough to split bigger orders in multiple packages and so I got the rest.
I got the Gang Deluxe, but I cannot stand the black cards. The cards themselves are fine, itās just parsing information on black cards does my head in
what is one more expansion? well. itās the stack that broke the space barrier of the base game box.
it also kind of exonerates a few other games that get regular complaints of having ātoo many cardsā
I was too lazy to unpack Innovation ultimate or Imperium:Foo for further examples.
And 7th Continent, Earthborne Rangers and Sleeping Gods are a different sort of beast. those try to tell stories with the cards. (and they are all on the sell pile anyway)
Just purchased and downloaded the Invincible Superhero RPG. I found following rule amusing.
Wrecking Buildings: If you wreck a building zone on a city map, the building is considered leveled. Its rooftop is no longer considered an elevated position (page 84).
I can imagine the mindset that needed to make this particular clear. Did this question come up in playtesting?
I think the notion that a āwreckedā building remains a tall object is very reasonable (assuming that the superheroes are not performing precise planned and controlled explosive demolitions). Iāve seen far worse rules queries than that :).
Some folks will stick to their interpretation of the rules no matter how insanely unintuitive it might be, though, and it reminds me of a discussion over whether an object which was clearly small (a pot-plant, perhaps) on the ground floor of a map would block line-of-sight between two high-ground positions either side of the object. It wasnāt an entirely invalid interpretation of the rules to say that it would, but it was a completely absurd one which most players would have rejected without a thought.
Just received Wondrous Creatures. Punched and bagged it (I squealed at the magnetic captains, what can I say, Iām 5) and read the rules and oh BOY, I canāt wait to try it.
First of all, the manual is a good one. One read in and I have a grasp of how to play, just need a quick skim with the game set up to have some visual aid and Iām gonna be good, unlike, say, SETI, where Iām gonna need a re-read and a practice game.
Seconnd, it reads like it plays like a cross between Everdell and Ark Nova with a dash of Terraforming Mars thrown in. And thatās, like, three of my top five games.
I played Container, for a game about buying containers I really didnāt bother with that nonsense. Instead making my money getting containers to the container island.
My 5 container ship got me 19 on the bid. Sold them for 38. With 4 containers on the island at the end I got a grand total of 15 points thereās. My final total was 83 against 60-60-53
Not exactly a game purchase, but very cool to get this supplement with a hand-written address direct from Splotter (someone on Discord mentioned the game could do with a few extra cows, I agreed, Juriaan mentioned he had a limited supply of some sparesā¦)
Picked up the Jessica Jones and Luke Cage Hero Packs for Marvel Champions. I admit I am not that familiar with the comic characters, but really loved them in the Netflix shows.
